Combined with Manu's recent comment about them waiting on DTs who they're higher on, it's a reasonable guess that the staff likes DC better if he's got the green light to commit. His highlight reel has Drayton looking like a good to go Taylor Hart clone... plenty big, fast and athletic. Time will tell on Green and others, but I'd guess there is one DLine spot left for someone they think could have an immediate impact.

Green is sticking to his story that he'll be announcing on or around signing day and is generally saying nice things about everybody but keeping his cards close to the vest. Cowart is still scheduled to visit during the Colorado game. Neville Gallimore's HS coach just confirmed he'll be visiting vs the Buffs as well... joining them will be Safety prospect Marquise Doherty. Regardless, if they land Carlberg, I will cease being nervous about the DLine recruiting as landing 3 solid prospects is a tremendous haul for this cycle. At that point it will be a game of musical chairs and just a matter of who realizes the music has stopped & it's time to sit down. Green, Cowart, Sweat, Gallimore & Beckner Jr. make up a pretty sweet list of possibilities for that 4th spot.
There hasn't been a peep on rivals about Benning Potoa'e, in fact I'd forgotten about him. Probably well down their list

Potoa'e has been moved on from, form his side or Ours. Wash recruit peeps say we've distanced from Manu. I don't think it is inaccurate, I feel we've told him there are players we have offered before him who we are waiting on and that we will get back to him in december after their visits. We will be #1 for him if what I saw was true, the question is space in if Gaillimore and/or Cowart have interest. If both pass we go to Manu.
tad more complicated than that, but similar. We also have outside targets which are boom or bust ones like Merritt, where we will take him but if we don't we won't look to fill his spot with a similar position player. So say we don't land Merritt it increases possibility for more DL recruiting flexibility to say get Manu if we get Gallimore and cowart. Ect.

with the bye week, coaches are flying all over the country meeting with prospects. It should be interesting to learn who they're meeting with.
btw, I've been as loud as I'm going to be about the disappointing play of the LBs. I don't know whether to be heartened to distressed by the lack of news on that recruiting front. They've only Tony Washington scheduled to graduate but having just 3 guys in for OVs so far and of course zero commits is where my recruiting nervousness lies. Maybe the lack of action is a sign that the coaches feel good about chances with Tevis, Houston & KL-S?

Probably unrealistic, but I'd like to add a LB ready to contribute next season... especially at ILB. Someone smart who can cover a lot of ground
Btw, I forgot to list Malone (along w/Washington) as a graduating Senior. They've 4 Juniors moving on following next season. It's a pretty favorable depth chart for prospects prioritizing early PT

3 weeks of fermenting has made this hilarious post from our football know-it-all even better. Gus hasn't done an interview with any paper or recruiting service and of course coaches can't comment on individual recruiting. I know rivals has repeatedly tried to contact him but he's not playing media games. Regardless, it's pretend time & our special poster alone is in the know on how GS's recruitment went down. Sure his future positional coach had nothing to do with his commitment. Talia & Maloata aren't DTs despite them playing that position... good stuff! But what I truly love is holding Aiken's feet to the fire over imagined recruiting failures for the past 3 classes when he's only midway through his 2nd year on the job
By now a hyperbolic Swimmy doubting the Ducks is expected. 3 weeks later, 2 DTs off the list I relayed are Duck commits. Just shocking! I'm expecting Oregon will land one more off that list
Like Jelks last cycle, he's pretty young for his class (won't turn 18 until next summer) and has some more growing/filling out to do. Depending on offseason developments, he's probably a prime candidate for a Redshirt year but I'm very optimistic about what he could become at Oregon.

again, I did look up this claim and it's baseless as Gus hasn't spoken to anyone since his commitment. Not O-Live, not ESPN, not 247, not rivals. 247 lists the coach who initiates a players recruitment, but Oregon divides recruitment up regionally... myself and other posters here have relayed this several times before. Do you really think prospects only speak with a single coach? I'm sure like most every commit at every school Gus has a relationship established with both his positional coach (Aiken) and the Coordinator (Pellum) as well as the coach that initiates contact (Chinander)... it seems far fetched that they wouldn't.
According to Canton himself, the Hawaiian connection thing your trying to sell is yet more pretend time/BS as it's "not really a big component for my recruiting". His grades are great, which is why he's got offers to top academic schools like Stanford and Vanderbilt. Like Carlberg, he wants to major in Business with a focus on Sports Marketing and UO is a top school for that. I relayed this info via his buddy Fred Ulu-Perry many months ago.

Of course he's only 18 and isn't one of the better players in the Pac 12... he's 18. True Freshman Lineman on either side of the ball almost always struggle. Regardless, that has nothing to do with what position he plays or your repeated false claims.

Since Oregon doesn't value ball control on Offense (once again they're DFL in the Pac 12 at 27:00 per game), they've been giving up a lot of yards for years now as the other Offense is on the field a lot. This year and last their D hasn't been as good as it's been, but it's still a whole lot better then you're trying to sell with your 103rd example. Since the goal of the team is to win the game and games are decided by points, points allowed is a much better measure as is yards surrendered per play. Despite the opposing offense having more opportunities to score, Oregon ranks 5th in the conference in points allowed per game just 0.8 points behind a very respected UW defense. For yards per play surrendered, they're 6th in the conference at 5.8 just 0.2 behind the Utes who you've started threads about claiming how great they are. With two of the worst offensive teams in the conference left on the schedule (Buffs & Beavs), those numbers only figure to improve.

So the mods are doing a bang up job of showing favoritism here yet again! If you can delete, I'm guessing you can read and allowing Stomp two call outs in one page of a thread shows a ton about the neutral way this board is to be governed. Why don't you mods just say Stomp has impunity and can thrash whomever whenever so we no the rules. K? This whole page should be stricken for the obvious attacks above.... Like a lot of things in life, it's all about greasing palms correctly. If you want to get on the good side of the mods, Wheels's weak spot is 20 year old single malts while Sly prefers his Pac 12 Championship seats 15 rows up or so somewhere around the 50 yard line. Sorry to say though that since I've bought them both blimps and always MC the secret poster/mod dinners, I'll be receiving the preferred poster treatment regardless. Let's make it super easy? If "EITHER" Stomp or myself attacks each other's post with vast sarcasm which is Stomps personal writing style, or a personal attack like me calling him an obvious MORON then we are suspended for a month instantly? Call his thoughts, or mine or anybody else's obnoxiously optimistic, sky is falling, negative, laughable, etc etc, and that is ok. Calling someone a moron, stupid, idiotic, etc etc, isnt ok.
If you or Stomp or anyone else want to take a voluntary leave of absence, or self suspension, thats all up to you. I think myself and other Mods on here, have shown that Banning and suspensions are the absolute last resort, and in one case only (on here) has been reserved for someone openly talking about how they are trying to circumvent the already lax rules in here, to attack. For now, I'll just stick with weeding out attack posts, and Thats as far as I'm going to go with it.
I like differing opinions, even ones I agree with less than 1% of the time. They just please please please PLEASE need to be delivered in a manner without attacking someone.

I offered a solution, one where the aggressor would be penalized instantly. It seems you're not as confident in your Stomp being able to live up to his end of that proposal. That I think is more telling than what you're not willing to do to create peace on this board!

Suspensions and Bannings being the absolute last resort. As a matter of fact, I believe that the procedure for bans and suspensions was changed, around PapaG
ban. And that ability/burden was taken away from a peasant mod such as myself

No one cares about your drama, no one. But here's a suggestion...maybe instead of repeatedly violating and now begging the mods to change the very simple rules that have served us well since long before you arrived with constant streams of Bullshit passed off as fact & hijacking thread after thread to complain about the same things over & over & over, you should go forth and start a new on-line Duck community?
