He will only make 7 wins because the rest of the Pac-12 South are elite. Zona, ASU, and UCLA are there to stay. Plus with competition from the North, opening vs. Alabama in Texas.

Sark may not grab them all. I like our chances with Houston

" But thinking Taj should ascend while missing his entire Senior season to injury just isn't the way things work with their guessing. He was never a 5* so it's beyond a reach to assert that committing to Oregon had anything to do with his rating"

So with that logic Sweat should lose a star but hasn't the same way Tyner and Canton did because both were injured and yet Sweat has missed most of this his senior year with his injury. SO why is he still in the top 10 of 24/7 with little body of work to show? 24/7 demotes for injury but clearly not here.

"You really should start your own recruiting service. You could be the first service that had 6 stars! A player's star rating could be adjusted whenever King Swim Block felt appropriate. With all your insider info and expert opinions, I'm sure you'd have subscribers galore

In the meantime, the final ratings provided by the existing services is what we have as a reference.... warts and all."

24/7 just did an article on who should have been 5 stars from the 2014 class and where the "EXPERTS" missed, guess who came in at number 8? So by your own factual expert site it must suck for you not even to go two days later after an attack and to be called out by your own recruiting GOD as wrong yet again! You might also take note at how many true freshman not only made impacts on their teams but stood out year one! I can't wait for Taj to make you eat your words next year just like Royce did this one.

Call me king swim block or whatever makes you feel clever... but for myself, 247 sports and 6****** Rolls Royce all say HAPPY FRESHMAN PAC 12 PLAYER OF THE YEAR MOUTH!!!!

Can't wait for you to chuck another boomerang out there so we can all watch you get knocked out with it!

In other recruiting news Mr. Sweat is coming out here on Saturday for an official....

I can only do my best to follow your train wreck of thoughts here. Canton hasn't sustained any injuries that caused him to miss time that I'm aware of. Again, he didn't compete in camps and (I'd guess) that 247 felt unsure about such an unknown prospect topping their list... or, maybe they didn't feel he was worthy of it based on his Senior year :dunno: Either way, he was dropped to mere 4* status waaaaaay before Oregon became the likely destination so your continued pity party is laughable. TT was rated at the back end of the 5*s and lost a * with his drop. Again, he got it back when he proved himself healthy. In their recent reranking, Sweat has dropped out of the top overall spot from ESPN down to #5 overall while rivals dropped from the 5th overall prospect to #31. I'd guess that the sites don't want to be cruel to such a prominent guy they were hyping as the next Clowney, but a total knee dislocation puts his football future in serious doubt regardless of mid process rankings. When the final rankings come out, I'll hazard a guess that he's outside 5* status. I'm barely aware of what 247 says about anything... when was their last reranking? Regardless, it's the final one that stays on record.

Here's a question for you... would Marcus Mariota have had any different impact at Oregon if he'd have been rated a 5*? Or a 4*? Or a 2*?

 that you still can't understand the site's simple rules and :biglaugh: at you completely misunderstanding what the articles you reference (but are unable to link) are about as if you're finally on to something. I've stated repeatedly I don't have much respect for 247 let alone revere them as GOD, but let me point out the subtle title of the article you completely misrepresent. "Who should have been five-stars in the 2014 class?"

In other words, they're admitting that they were inaccurate in their predictions just as I stated these sorts of lists always are. The writer knows they can't go change the record and once again they were wildly off base. And once again you contort to come up with a whole new way of inserting foot into mouth.

Still waiting on you linking one of these threads where I say anything bad about Royce going into this season. I stated the obvious, that he'd have his work cut out for him with two established studs ahead of him, but always rooted for his success. I know you'll provide zero links not only because of your obvious struggles understanding this difficult technology but also because there are no links of me talking bad about him. In fact I relayed many hopeful links/posts from his HS days as his UO recruiting progressed as (unlike you) I root for all the Ducks to succeed, & certainly not for them to "hopefully go 7-4". When are you going to start that thread crowing about your great prediction prowess? Or beat your chest over repeated claims of Tyner at Tazer? Or Crosby dominating as a true freshman?

In other recruiting news Mr. Sweat is coming out here on Saturday for an official....

Yup. Rivals has relayed that for a week+ via his HS coach who says the trip is locked in. Regardless of whether he ends up a Duck, he's got a long road to recovery ahead of him... I truly hope the best for him as he seems like a great kid from a solid home

Nope! You said Rolls Royce would have a hard time cracking the rotation already in place here. I said hell no, and had given him a nickname before he ever stepped on our campus! He not only cracked the rotation he destroyed it and owned it at a clip no other true freshman has ever done here. You were so WRONG it's not even worth the retort! So please admit to that, or in your words that you give to others say how "full of shit" you were or are? "BUMP YOUR CHEST ON THAT" !

Canton was #1 on 247's list beginning of this year but not competing in camps altered that? Nice reach! He was injured, duck podcasts covered that, I'm sure you don't want to find it though, would make you look like less than a regurgitating expert you love to think you are. Keep slithering snake oil salesman!

BTW- if you don't respect 247 or rivals why do you vomit their info on everyone here when ever convenient to make your weak ass arguments? Hey? Maybe you should create your own shuck and jive site for slick talking non playing football know it all's! Your followers will never be right unless they agree with you! If they pretend to kiss your ass the right way, they'll get repped! Like here!

Keep trying to save yourself MOUTH! You also said most freshman don't make an impact remember, if they ever even crack their starting rotations? That whole revised list on 247 freshman today not only made impacts they were standouts this year! :biglaugh:

As for Marcus his star rating in high school was seriously hindered by his starting years and what state he came from, which is BS! Not a recruiting hot bed in the eyes of the sites YOU PAY for knowledge off of! So with an ironic twist it should tell you something that Canton was rated #1 overall from that same state before injury wouldn't ya think?

It just dawned on me, you remind me so much of that know it all from the Harvard Bar in Good Will Hunting that Damon schooled, you know? How ya like those apples BOY!

Classic!

take it to PM or a "Bitch Fest" thread. This derailing is obnoxious. reeeeally dont feel up taking time from moving to deal with with drama. This garbage has nothing to do with Recruiting... at all.

Please dont make me lock this thread too. K thx bye.

No shit. It gets old constantly being called names and having left field nonsense attributed to me, but whatever... it speaks for itself

Good luck on your move

Sweat might be in Eugene, but our coach will be in Hawaii.

He's projected at least initially at Drop End/Outside LB, so his position coach would be Eric Chinander. From what I'm reading EC is guiding Josh around on his OV today and the other coaches will be back tomorrow for the 2nd day.

Great to hear about Manu

AlsoX we are not getting Sweat. I know it.

What's the word on Greene and Houston? We aiming to maybe flip the commitment of some guys?

Both are pretty quiet, Not getting green. Slim slim chance on Houston, as USC is already getting an Epic LB class but probably not.

USc getting an epic LB class? What you mean? Think if we win the title we have a better chance of convincing recruits, or is hometown pressure to follow the pipeline to USC too much plus >Sark

heres a local article from Hawaii recapping the HS All State players including a few paragraphs on the Defensive Player of the Year and future Duck DT Rex Manu... it came out the same day he committed to UO. Lots of flattering quotes from opposing coaches

btw, the rivals buzz from program insiders is that at least one of their current DTs (AA Buckner) has informed the staff they intend to return next season... my guess is that it's Arik

Buckner and AA staying? I Heard AA might be getting a 1st round grade.

And whats the word on Cowart, Sweat's visit, Merrit and Warren and on other prospects? Who are we aiming for?

AA's body of work isn't 1st round NFL in my opinion at least YET! Should he come back and play with Canton, Rex, Balducci and Buckner for another year? I'd say yes, but my hope is the one coming back for sure is the Big Buck to go nuts with Canton on the line!

AA has all the tools and NFL size he just hasn't put it together for a full year yet and NFL scouts must have noticed that.

I'm also interested about the twins DT's who just de-committed from Nebraska, we need to get them on campus!

Lovely. Knew it was coming. Looks like Byron may join FSU as well.

A Mole!!!! :MARIS61::MARIS61::MARIS61::MARIS61::MARIS61:

I ain't no mole. I'm being real. Byron would want to play with Sweat and stay close to home to boot

Oregon again, plays brides maid. East coasters prefer staying close to home. West Coasters want to suck off of USC's tradition and Mora's hype

I ain't no mole. I'm being real.

 no not you. I was referring to Sweat visiting. He just wanted to try and get gameplan info and report back to Jimbo :)

ah. Fun.

Also, joined 247. Forsake all hope on Cowart and Greene. For the latter its down to Stanford and USC. Whelp. Durant may be solid on ASU.

On the offensive side, I don't know why the Ducks are going after Murray. He seems like a lock unlike both Spatival and Sumlim bolt for greener pastures(HC and NFL respectively). However, transfer may be welcomed, mainly Braxton Miller(contact is minimal if any) and Vernon Adams from Eastern Washington(who tore up Puppies and Beavers in every start).

However! There is some hope.

Houston we have a shot. Tell too. Also, we may flip Beaver commit Shalom Luani, who had a monster season in JUCO. Kirk Merrit we are feeling really good on, a two way horse race between us and TAMU. On the O-line, Semisi is still an option(UCLA and Texas Tech are making a run though) and Darrin Paulo, a 3* guard out of Sacramento is still being targeted by Oregon and other Pac-12 programs

Not to go to many recruiting years ahead here but check out the kid Tua Tagovailoa from Marcus's high school. Not only does he want to follow in Marcus's footsteps here, the kid is a lefty who has 41 td to 3 pics as a sophomore...

I know. 247 has been talking about him a lot. I hope oregon offers him and locks hkm up. I mean, SEC schools do that. Why can't we.

have always felt Green would lean to Stanford just based on his (& his family) stressing academics. Durant may go to ASU, but Helfrich is currently on a Midwest swing visiting him and Doherty.

I'll continue to have my doubts on 247 "info". They put more stuff out then rivals to be sure, but most of this extra stuff is just guesses posed as fact based on the same few facts that everyone is privy to. Anyone can can make guesses

Seth Green was locked up midway through his Junior year, so I don't get the complaint. With the sustained success of the coaching staff, maybe there is something to their deliberate process that fans should embrace rather then being dazzled by stars or highlight tapes. Besides that, being a Duck QB is becoming a very sought after spot. If a prospect wants that honor, maybe he should camp at Oregon like Mariota, Mahalak & Green did? Personally I thought he looked very composed and athletic in his film, but he is smallish and seemed not to have quite the zip on his passes that the aforementioned kids do. Definitely someone to keep on eye on though

As expectrd sweat to fsu, not ideal OV used.

couldn't that same complaint be said for every single time a prospect who visited decided to go elsewhere?

As far as their commitment list, they're well ahead of where they usually at for this time of year. Even with reduced visits available, my guess is like every single year prior they'll finish the cycle with several unused OVs available

No it can't, we are on OV restrictions still that put us several below our normal don't use em all up status.

What's the news on Canton? Is USC sniffing hard?

How many recruits flip our way when we win the national championship is my thought?

It seems you only read the first line of my post. Feel free to read the rest...they won't use all the OVs

Terry Beckner is visiting us in January. Think we get another Missouri product?
