Whiteside last year : 14 pts, 12 rebs, 3.7 blks, 26 PERWhat about calling Larry Sanders and hope him to be what we wish Hassan Whiteside to be? Give him a 2 years 18 millions contract with a team option for a third year. Cut "only" 9 millions in our cap space and the possibility to still give someone a max contract.

Sanders' best year: 10 pts, 10 rebs, 2.8 blks, 19 PER
These guys are on totally different tiers.
That's why one is paid (in my theory) 9M and the other 22M. Are those 13M worth the drop in production? And if it lands us say Al Horford?
We aren't getting horford. We aren't on his list of teams.
Dwight opted out of $23M.
He believes he'll make $31M.
NBA executives believe he'll make $10-$15M.
Only Dwight Howard Thinks He's a Max-Contract Star

In general, team executives said his starting salary should be no higher than $15 million‚—or $2 million less than Enes Kanter, the backup center for Oklahoma City, will earn next season.

I found this part interesting:
"I wouldn't sign him," said an executive with a Western Conference playoff team, expressing a view that's more common than one might expect.
Maybe Dwight misunderstood his agent and was told he'd make 31m totalhttp://thelab.bleacherreport.com/wo...um=referral&utm_campaign=programming-national
I found this part interesting:
Portland needs a frontcourt anchor to complement its brilliant guard tandem of Damian Lillard and C.J. McCollum. But the Trail Blazers are more interested in Miami center Hassan Whiteside, according to league sources.
So that article doesn't believe Whiteside is that anchor? InterestingAnother things mentioned in the article:

Hello Mark Cuban! He'll pay him whatever he wants given his track record for overpaying.Unfortunately it only takes one GM to offer something crazy to totally contradict what every other GM is thinking is fair. BUT, IF that info is correct and holds up (I doubt it) then that really could be a difference maker
Muthafucka what??
Didn't he have Microfracture? Been there, done that.
Did he? I thought they don't do microfracture surgery on current athletes anymore?
"Would I take a chance at $12-13 million? Yeah, if I already have a franchise guy," one executive said. "Would I rather pay Dwight Howard $14 million than Bismack Biyombo? You're darn right I would."
Clowney just got it two years ago
