I don't really see Dame or CJ playing under 35 minutes per game. Dame has averaged exactly 35.7 minutes per game in each of the last two seasons, and he averaged 35.8 minutes per game in 2013-2014. Stotts is extremely precise in how many minutes Dame plays.

CJ averaged 34.8 minutes per game last year, so they're both right around 35 minutes per game.

I think We can play CJ exclusively at shooting guard and let Turner take the backup point guard minutes.

PG: Dame (35) / Turner (13)
SG: CJ (35) / Crabbe (13)
SF: Turner (17) / Crabbe (17) / Harkless (12)
PF: Aminu (30) / Harkless (18)
C: Ezeli (25) / ???

At this point I'm not sure what our big man rotation will be.
So Leonard, Davis, Plumlee, and Vonleh would split up 23 minutes?

Who would you pull minutes from? Could probably drop Harkless to 25, but I'd like to see Crabbe and Turner both at 30ish minutes.
Lillard (36) / McCollum (12)
McCollum (23) / Crabbe (25)
Turner (28) / Harkless (20)
Aminu (26) / Davis (18) / Leonard (4)
Ezeli (22) / Plumlee (16) / Leonard (10)

Lillard (36) / McCollum (12)
McCollum (23) / Crabbe (25)
Turner (28) / Harkless (20)
Aminu (26) / Davis (18) / Leonard (4)
Ezeli (22) / Plumlee (16) / Leonard (10)

So you would pay Crabbe and Turner 17.5 million and 17 million respectively, to play less than 30 minutes per game?

It's not a matter of minutes per pay. It's a matter of what's best for the team.

You don't bench Davis or Plumlee to give Turner and Crabbe a few extra minutes with the only justification being because of their contract...

Plumlee is out, my friend. As soon as Meyers comes back, he will become unnecessary. Plus, we don't want to pay him the quan next summer.

I think we should trade him now. You don't bench him if he's kept though just to give minutes based on a contact.

If he gets traded for a draft pick then:

Lillard (36) / McCollum (12)
McCollum (24) / Crabbe (24)
Turner (30) / Moe (12) / Crabbe (6)
Aminu (26) / Davis (12) / Moe (10)
Ezeli (24) / Leonard (16) / Davis (8)

Stotts is in mismatch heaven if he rotates the roster on any given night

If you look at the averages, Lillard and CJ have been right around 35 minutes per game. Lillard has been near that 35 minutes per game for three years.

In other thoughts, we definitely are too deep right now and it looks to be a setup for a future trade

Seeing Manu in anything but a Spurs jersey in the NBA would be weird.

The problem with that is that most players perform better with extensive, consistent minutes.
There are exceptions to that rule...Shaq used to sit out most of the first half of a season with a sore toe and only really care about being in game shape for the playoffs....other guys have been run into the ground playing major minutes all season..fresh legs are a good thing

I haven't been so pleasantly surprised by a player ever! He is so limited in his offensive game, but makes the most with the least. Very happy with how he played last season.

Definitely, I like Plums, but there aren't enough minutes to go around.
