Wow: the first round is going to be essentially conducted by Philly, Boston and Denver.
Ainge especially has done a good job, as much as it pains me to say.

He got a shit load of picks for the big 3 + Rondo + Doc.

Also.... Brooklyn's stupidity knows no bounds. You'd think they would be more judicious with their pick protections after missing out on Dame.

All the NY/LA teams have been stupid with picks. The Knicks are giving away their lottery pick this year from Melo and Bargnani trades. The Lakers only keep theirs if its top3 and they still owe Orlando a pick from the Dwight Howard trade that could be #1 overall. Obviously the Nets have been terrible. The Clippers gave away the #1 pick that was Irving a few years ago plus Doc gave away first rounders for tiny salary dumps.

They still have this illusion that free agents will flock to their teams so draft picks are irrelevant. Its great for the rest of the league that they continue to believe so. The Nets have rebuilt the Blazers, Celtics, Jazz and Hawks.

A Neil Olshey special.

Not feeling that rebuilt right now.

Imagine if we had Gerald Wallace who is being paid over $10.5 million this season instead of Damian Lillard; the rebuilding project would be very different

Or Joe Johnson instead of the cap space to sign Korver and Millsap
Or Deron Williams contract on the payroll until 2020! instead of Derrick Favors
Or one year of 35 year old Paul Pierce, one and a half years of nearly 40 year old Garnett; instead of top 5 lottery picks over the next three drafts

I just looked at the standings - what's up with NOP? All the "experts" had them as a Playoff lock.

Monty isn't as bad a coach as some thought? Alvin Gentry isn't a great head coach either; there were reasons he was fired before.

Yes the Pelicans have been injured now; but it was amazing some of the multi game winning streaks they had last year with Anthony Davis injured and Luke Babbitt starting.

You think Stotts will be fired? I highly doubt that. Olshey and Allen wouldn't fire him after the roster turnover they dealt him this year.
I think this season is his audition, at this rate he isn't gonna make it past the all star break. There are better coaches out there.

With Meyers down it's going to be much more difficult for this team to win. A large contingent will laugh at that statement, but I believe it to be true. Even when Meyers wasn't hitting his shots he was an important part of our offense. And in the last few games before his injury he was starting to hit his shots again. Now that we lack an outside threat to pull pressure off Dame/CJ it's going to be tougher on EVERYONE.
#blessingindisguise
So far we're shooting ~3% worse without Meyers, AND giving up ~3% on the defensive end. A -6% swing without Meyers.

Labiessiere in foul trouble. Murray looks solid early. Ingram is skinny as hell I'd be a little nervous with him or Skal playing against NBA players.

Plumlee been best player on the floor got Dukes first 9 points all in garbage put backs.

Jamal Murray looked great for Kentucky. He looked bigger than I thought almost thought he could be a Wes Matthews SG/SF when watching him but turns out he's only 6'3" with a 6'8" wingspan. Guess we'd have to rotate him with Dame and CJ which could maybe work or trade one of them. Murray is certainly the biggest of the three and should be fine as a full time SG for those unsure of CJ.

Murray has nice handles and ability to get to the rim. Seemed very balanced and in control but used his body to get nice shots. Was able to find teammates. Was more impressed with him than Skal although yes it was only 1 game. Just not sure if Skal can be that physical presence inside you want. With the NBA game going smaller will he fit as a PF? Have concerns about him at #2. Plus out of the thousands of historical NBA players his main comparison is LMA; don't we want to try something different this soon?

Ingram was bad; he is so skinny he's 5 inches taller than Murray and 10 lbs lighter. Looks like Travis Outlaw. Just existed on the court had no impact offensively or defensively. It's one game so I'll just give him an incomplete for now instead of a bad grade.
