My draft day dream is trading Allen Crabbe and idgaf how many of our first round picks for PG 13.

I'd love every second of being forcefed crow after crow by Natebishop.
Might as well just trade that package to the Lakers and ask for nothing in return.

Wouldn't be so sure. I think ultimately he wants to win and if he spent a season of success here then perhaps he would be inclined to stay. Indianapolis weather isn't that different from ours right?

If George does walk you really only lose the picks since in the long run you've frees cap room for Nurk.
So you have no more assets or flexibility to improve for the future.

I wouldn't go all in on a guy whod likely leave for the Lakers.

Agreed. Butler on the other hand I go for.
A more realistic option would be Khris Middleton.

His under contract for the next 3 years, at around $14M a year. Has been known as a good defender, is a 40% 3pt shooter, and is only 25. Gets 5 ast per 36 as well.

So why would Milwaukee trade him? Well, Malcolm Brogdon has had a stellar rookie year, and is a lot cheaper than Middleton. The Bucks might want to create room to start Brogdon at SG.

Creating capspace and getting picks would be a good idea for Milwaukee. They need a PG, and are near the cap line. Henson is also expendable with Maker showing promise, so we could take him on as an ideal backup C as well.

So heres an idea:
BKN Gets: Crabbe, Leonard
MIL Gets: Vonleh, Lin or late BKN pick, MEM 1st, CLE 1st,
POR Gets: Middleton, Henson

Milwaukee gets their starting PG in Lin, or they clear nearly $25M in salary.
BKN Gets 2 young players at good value.
We get our starting SF, and backup C, while keeping our top pick.

No more assets? You still have Chief, Harkless, and Davis contracts. Still have Dame, CJ, and Nurk...

I'm talking about assets to surround those three with more talent. Just because they're on good contracts doesn't mean they're an asset.

What exactly would you expect in return for Harmless and Aminu?

Three? Maybe you got slipped up somewhere. I'm talking about trading Crabbe and a combination of first round picks for Paul George to get us a big 4.

Dame
CJ
PG13
???
Nurk

How much you wanna bet that eastern european big men are going to see a sudden resurgence in popularity now that Nurkic and Jokic have exploded onto the scene.

And Kristaps.

Looks like he's playing against a JV team but a good look at his athleticism

I like this guy with our last pick, even though many mocks have him in the mid 2nd round. I don't know why he's ranked so low.

He reminds me of a guy like CJ or Roy where the game seems to be moving at a slower pace for them than the rest of the guys on the court. He seems like a multi-skilled player, has good ball handling, passing, penetration, defense, rebounding, can create his own shot and score from anywhere on the court...

He's shot almost 60% from 2 his entire college career and almost 40% from 3. His a 4 year player too so should be very developed.

Some mocks got in 2nd round but there some mocks got in the 20-30 area. Right that Memphis pick is 19. I like Hart and if they decide to trade Crabbe he would be perfect with Dame and CJ.

Sad news to hear Chris Boucher tore his ACL. Don't know how that hurts his draft stock.

Ya. Sucks for that kid, and the other kids at Oregon who had a legit shot at the final 4. He was projected second round, so hopefully he still gets picked

Assuming we make the playoffs -- revised non-lotto power rankings:

Blazer pick:
1) Miles Bridges - 6'7" PF
2) Isaiah Hartenstein - 7'0" PF
Darkhorse: Harry Giles - 6'10" PF

Memphis pick:
1) Rodions Kurucs - 6'8" SF
2) Terrance Ferguson - 6'7" SG
Darkhorse: Ivan Rabb - 6'10" PF

Cleveland pick:
1) Luke Kennard - 6'5" SG
2) Caleb Swanigan - 6'9" PF
Darkhorse: Alec Peters - 6'9" PF

Second round buys:
* Jonathan Jeanne - 7'3" PF
* Ethan Happ - 6'9" PF
* Bonzie Colson - 6'5" SF

Giles would've been my #1 target if it weren't for his two ACL surgeries. He's a top-5 talent though worth taking a chance on IMO. According to Ford some execs still put him in the tier-1 group with Ball/Fultz even with the three knee injuries.

We'd be lucky if Bridges/Hartenstein fell out of the lotto. Rabb would've been a top-10 pick had he stayed in the draft last year.

I watch him Happ play to me he has the best foot work on low post I have seen for a big man in years. Strong rebounder and plays above average steals. He just Sophmore this year so I guess we will see if comes out early.

Watching the Ducks short handed last night I want no part of Dillon Brooks....chuck, chuck, chuck....Dorsey had the hot hand and Brooks forced bad shots all night and especially with the game on the line....ISO ball Brooks...the Ducks had 4 assists as a team...a real clank fest. Jordan Bell was unable to guard the Arizona bigs well enough to turn the tide...Bell still looks like an NBA player though, just not a center

He did make two jump shots.
he for me has one of the highest boom/bust potentials in the draft in the likely 8-14 positions. Guy has incredible size/length/athleticism but as we know it does not always translate, is he Trob or at least a Dieng type layer - if the latter that would be a really nice fit in POR

DX's updated mock:

#11 -- Frank Ntilikina - 6'5" PG
#19 -- Rodions Kurucs - 6'8" SF
#27 -- Bam Adebayo - 6'10" C

I am not advocating drafting Brooks, but he is NO chucker. They all were forced into some bad shots. Dorsey was ice cold in the first half while Brooks was hot and kept them close. Dorsey caught fire in the 2nd. Yes Brooks forced two critical shots late, but so did Dorsey. Ennis was cold and Boucher was out, so who else was left to shoot? Benson and PP were a combined 0-5. Brooks is a very unselfish player when other players are on. He will need to keep shooting if the Ducks are to advance.
