Games have yet to be scheduled but at least now we know what times the games will be. Speculate away as to when you think we will play. I've seen people claiming that we will be playing Saturday at noon, I can't argue with the logic in that. Said logic is that the NBA will schedule their premier teams for ABC, and should the Cavs have an arena scheduling conflict on Saturday.

  • Saturday, April 15: Game 1 at 3 p.m., ABC. <-----Blazers vs Warriors?
  • Saturday, April 15: Game 1 at 5:30 p.m., ESPN
  • Saturday, April 15: Game 1 at 8 p.m., ESPN
  • Saturday, April 15: Game 1 at 10:30 p.m., ESPN
  • Sunday April 16: Game 1 at 3 p.m., ABC <-----Cavs/Celtics vs ___?
  • Sunday April 16: Game 1 at 5:30 p.m., TNT
  • Sunday April 16: Game 1 at 8 p.m., TNT
  • Sunday April 16: Game 1 at 10:30 p.m., TNT

Those are Eastern times. I don't think it makes sense to have the Warriors and Blazers start at noon local time on Saturday.

I'm guessing Game 1 of HOU vs. OKC will be on ABC. They will want to feature the showdown of the two leading MVP candidates.

I do agree it is possible for them to put OKC vs HOU at that time. I definitely do not think it is a given that we play Saturday at noon, or even Saturday in general, doesn't mean its not possible though.

The OKC/Houston series is a much higher profile matchup compared to Blazers/Warriors. They will get the Sunday ABC slot.

Also, I think the Cavs or Celtics are prime candidates for the other ABC slot. If the Cavs have a conflict, then it's likely the Celtics spot.

The Warriors/Blazers & Jazz/Clippers series are destined for the 10:30 time slots. Those 4 teams are the only ones in the Mountain or Pacific time zones & they are playing each other in rounds 1 & 2.

No idea. I think it could be as soon as tomorrow, if not I would guess Thursday.
It'll be known within moments of the games ending tomorrow. We always know the schedule before we go to bed that night.

I imagine the Warriors/Blazers and Jazz/Clippers games will be the Saturday and Sunday 10:30 games, since they're the only ones being played east of the Central time zone. I'd wager that if Utah is hosting game 1 of their series, that game will be on Saturday with ours on Sunday, and if LA hosts it will be Sunday with our game on Saturday.

But the #1 seed games are on ABC, while others on TNT/ESPN. And those games (including last year) are usually in the afternoon.

Last year, the first Saturday games were scheduled at 12:30, 3:30, 7:00, and 9:30 (EST). This year (according to the OP) they've pushed them back such that the last game starts at 10:30 EST. It seems unreasonable to me that they'd schedule a Central time-zone team to host a game that wouldn't end until midnight local time at the latest.

However, I could be wrong. This is all speculation on my part.

There is no way an ABC game starts at 10:30 pm eastern.

Not arguing that at all. I guess I'm just unaware of the certainty of the #1 seeds playing on ABC exclusively. If that exists, then I hope they shift the schedule from what is shown in the OP.

A whole extra day for Nurkic to chillax before ripping the heads off of the Warriors. Thank you NBA
