Gimmicks ruined the dunk contest. A dunk over a car is no more impressive than a dunk not over a car, if it's the same dunk.

Plus, dude has played 5 games in the league. That's what is the biggest joke.

Maybe high jumping in the Olympics might be his thing.

I think it’s been 15 years since I watch a single second of an NBA All Star game.

Actually I know it was 15 years. Because I had just had surgery and was heavily sedated. I turned the channel halfway through.

I think it might be fun for the kids though.

It's kinda weird when you reach the age where you realize that the NBA (or most anything) is not directed to your age group.

The player should try to dunk while 4 other players try to stop him with paintball guns.

That should be the contest.

HAHAHAHAHA!

Draymond just gave this version of the ASG a 0/10, said it sucks, and isn't basketball.

forget the players not giving a shit.

this production and timeout bullshit will put the nail in the coffin of all star weekend for good

Didn't watch, but why did Dame only play 3 minutes?

prolly the worst all star game in recent memory.

completely self inflicted by tnt/nba too

it's a trainwreck. you can't help but watch.

an ad DURING the mvp trophy presentation. sad.

wonder if this tnt's middle finger to adam silver for picking espn/nbc/amazon as future broadcast partners.

Did the NBA have an event this weekend ? cause I have already erased it from my mind cause it was just that bad --

I keep seeing this thread... Scrolling through the latest page and seeing nothing that makes me feel like I'm missing anything.

I appreciate this place.

It was clever and the games were more competitive than last year’s. Plus the shorter format created urgency that was welcome. Ultimately, the best answer is to do it the original way but require that the players compete.

I don't know about all the criticizing? Yeah the breaks were a bit long and I think they could have done the gone fishing bit after the final game.
It was a showcase weekend. It was probably better if you were there live.
I liked that I could watch it when I got the chance with the replays throughout the weekend because I had a few other things going and watched Saturday on Sunday morning.

Maybe the original way with more money on the line for the winning team.

Well TNT produces these allstar weekends. They work with the league on changes to the format. This was their last game…… so from friends of mine on the crew this weekend, they really wanted to have a farewell type game. I believe this format with all the breaks, allowed them the time to do that.
I hated the pace and sounds like the players did too.
I’m QUITE sure with ESPN taking over next season it will go back to the East vs West.

Everyone said it was the worst all star game ever.

I mean, its the current day NBA. Everything about it sucks, so it's right on brand.
