He clipped the roof with his left foot, glazed the dunk, landed poorly. Absolute failure
Close enough, but it wasn’t the roof he hit, and he was easily higher than the car, which is what mattered

This is a sad affair

McClung had no competition here

Can you imagine if he's not competing? My goodness, this event would evaporate. His 2nd dunk was impressive, rotated his body against his momentum

He was the only one that really brought creativity and ability.

Castle did good on that last one but man.

Bummed about Dame losing so I didn’t watch dunk contest live but just watched Mac jump over a car. Amazing,

The dunk contest is kind of stupid now

bringing out a fucking car -- are you serious -- I hope he slips / hits car and face plants now that would be funny but not get injured outside of a busted nose maybe
I hope you don’t have kids

I don't think I've watched it since the year after Vince Carter last won...
Yeah that was 2000 I believe. The Jason Richardson contests were sick. That was 2003 I believe and from that point on they’ve been really bad!

You should be required to do at least one dunk where you don't push off on somebody holding the ball. That's cheating! That's basically why Tom Chambers' dunk looks so impressive when Chambers, while a decent leaper, certainly wasn't top tier.

Even a little push off (like what McClung did on all his) makes a huge difference.

I like the idea of a 1 vs. 1 tournament. We could see LeBron vs. KD, Dame vs. Steph Curry, Clingan vs. Joker. Some great matches like that.

What about making contestants adhere to the rules of the game? Dribble the fucking thing or take a lob. Having a car out there is dopey.

Gimmicks ruined the dunk contest. A dunk over a car is no more impressive than a dunk not over a car, if it's the same dunk.

Plus, dude has played 5 games in the league. That's what is the biggest joke.

I think it’s been 15 years since I watch a single second of an NBA All Star game.

Actually I know it was 15 years. Because I had just had surgery and was heavily sedated. I turned the channel halfway through.

I think it might be fun for the kids though.
