Looks we drafted the wrong Collins. John Collins for the Hawks is something special
Putting up numbers on a bad team as a guy who doesnt defend, but was more NBA-Ready with still less potential than Zach. I'll take the big who can defend and shoot 3s all-day.

I would love for Dame to have efficiency numbers like that. No one is hating on Dame...but to expect efficiency to go up doesn't seem out of the realm of being reasonable. Dame has only been over 44% FG% once in his career. Part of that is because he takes a lot of tough or off-balanced shots and is good enough to make them some of the time. But overall, it is still not very high efficiency. If a no-knees Rose can produce these types of numbers, it should be reasonable to expect that Dame can at least improve his.

Dame will never be that efficient. That’s why I mention him and overrated together.

Great leader though

We already have officiating bias and media bias in favor of the Lakers. Do we really need statistical bias. Is there some special super secret PER formula specifically for Laker players?

LeBron's PER is currently 26.8, not 38.6.

The all time record for PER is 31.82 by Wilt in 1962-63. In 1961-62, the year Wilt averaged 50.4 ppg and 25.7 rpg his PER was "only" 31.74. A PER of 38.6 is pretty much impossible.

Portland is smashing the rest of the league in FT%.

It changes daily, so I'd better record the top 3 as of today, for future students studying my writings.

.830 Portland
.819 Golden State
.819 Minnesota

Korver traded to the Jazz

Well, he'll definitely help their 3-point shooting (currently 29th in 3FG%), but at almost 38-years old, I wonder how many minutes he'll get. He was averaging 15.7 MPG in CLE. That's the lowest since his rookie year (when Donovan Mitchell was in the 1st grade).

Kyle is a solid talent who can contribute a lot to the Jazz, and I imagine that they can use him for 16-20 min per game to score some swish3s. This can be an opportunity for Kyle to move ahead instead of trying to carry a scoring burden for the struggling Cavs. It will be interesting to watch him play on the new team.

If they want to improve their Swish3's they should definitely trade for the greatest Swish3 shooter in the history of one NBA playoff series: Meyers Leonard.

Ha Ha! The game is moving toward greater importance of swish3 shooting and a place for attempting as many as 14 per game (like Klay). The Blazers have a swish3 scoring star, and now the Jazz do too. It is will be fascinating to see how both of these teams use their swish3 scoring power in future games.

Do you have an endorsement deal for saying that stupid term, over and over? Like the Secretary of State in Idiocracy gets paid for saying "Brought to you by Carl's Jr.".... because if so I understand. If not, that's kind of weird.

No. Swish3 is just a favorite term for 3 point shots, which are becoming increasingly important for wins. For some of us, this term along with dunk2s and free1s are useful.

Funny, I've never heard any other user prefer those terms. I'll have to do an Internet search.

Bill Simmons discussed All NBA teams for the first 20 games. There are some decisions to make. Who are your starting forwards? In case you don’t know, your choices are LeBron, Kawhi, Durant, Giannis (and Aminu). Tough tough call. For guards, they focused on Oladipo, Kemba, Butler, and Dame. Embiid as first team C and Anthony Davis as second team.

What do you guys think? As of right now, if the season ended today, what would be your All NBA teams?

Mine would be

Kemba/Dame/Durant/Giannis/Embiid
Oladipo/Butler/LeBron/Kawhi/Davis
Conley/PG13/Tobias/Griffin/Gasol

I leave out Curry and Westbrook who missed too many games. Harden leads league in scoring but has his team at 14th in the West.

Looking forward to your replies.

20(ish) games into the season, who had the following?

  • Blazers 1.5 games behind the Conference leading...........Clippers?
  • Last year's doormat Mavericks in the #8 spot in the Playoff race?
  • The Thunder 1 game out of first place after beginning 0-4 to start?
  • The Timberwolves playing so much better without Jimmy Butler?
  • The Rockets being thankful the sorry Suns are an NBA franchise?
  • The Sacramento Kings being 1/2 game out of the #8 Playoff spot?

Weird season so far.

The West is in the closest thing to parity I can remember. Except the Warriors and Suns, of course.

But it use to be that there were 10+ good teams in the West, and somehow we've suddenly become Eastern Conference-lite - the mediocrity is astounding!
