Gortat currently makes ~12.8. We can absorb him into our TPE. He could be a 1 year stop gap if we chose not to bring back Nurk, bridge the gap to Collins. We could also immediately turn around and trade him for up to 16078261 in salary. Thus, getting an extra 3 million, potentially, out of our TPE. So list of available targets could increase to guys like... I dunno, James Johnson, Middleton, Bledsoe, Tobias Harris.

I'm thinking Ed replacement, not Nurk. But the flipping value is a key point. And it would extend our TPE essentially for another year.

Only if we get 15 too.

Does 15+24 get us into the top 10? @BonesJones?

I want to get Bridges and avoid Philly landing him. Do we sweeten the pot?

I heard a scary comparison for Bridges recently on some pod that made a lot of sense.

Wesley Johnson. Their stats are like identical. Not sure he's the guy we want.

I can't see them giving up 15 without a swap in there. 15 and Gortat for 24. But, I dunno. It's a lot of money.

I disagree completely. His motor is the complete opposite of Johnson's. The similarities statistically are meaningless IMO.

Wesley Johnson went to Syracuse. They don't play on the ball D there. Bridges is a tenacious on the ball defender.

I don't really see it, other than both can/could sort of create their own pace and slow the game down. But Roy a more gifted scorer and more athletic (while he had meniscus) and Doncic taller and a way better passer.

Let's just get 'em all--figure out a way to get up to 10 to get Bridges, 17 for Divincenzo, and get Brunson at 24. Then convince Jay Wright to follow them out here.
 
Ugh: so Mavs are probably getting Doncic. Replacement for Dirk just as he retires.

When's the last time you knew Neil was going after a prospect? Only time is when he and Paul had the prospect
out to dinner. That didn't happen at all this year. I don't think anyone (that's allowed to say) knows what he'd doing - I
don't believe a random tweet.
