Brett Brown is acting GM currently.
He can't have done much scouting. No way they keep all their remaining 4 picks. Just weird timing from LA's perspective though. Why do this before knowing the guy they're targeting is actually available?

My guess is they’re looking to package it with 25 to move up.

The only way I trade the number 4 if I am Memphis is if I get rid of parsons, get a good cheap young player in return AND get their next years 1 round draft pick with no restrictions.

I already know nothing will happen, we will get another Layman at 24 and call it a night. Everyone was excited thinking we would make a splash at the trade deadline too, we just aren’t in a financial position or have the assets that a lot of other teams have to make trades. The only way the Blazers are gonna win a championship imo is if we acquire the best talent evaluators in the league and start hitting HOMERUNS in the mid to late rounds since the FO is determined to keep us in the middle of the pack.

I just can’t understand why Paul Allen is ok with this

Money probably, it’s easier to sell the kool aid (and merch/tickets) when people see us winning 45-49 games and think the internal growth thing wins championships.

You would think at his age that wasting time would be unacceptable... and sticking with CJ another season and delaying the inevitable is wasting time

Olshey has sold the whole organization that the 49 win season is indicative of the team headed in the right direction and the sweep in the first round is the aberration. I can't understand why everyone hasn't realized that Dame and CJ aren't a match on offense where both guys seem to need to dribble every time they touch the ball and they're a disaster on defense where neither one can defend a legit 2. CJ and Dame are each legitimate talents, they are both capable of being the first or second option on a team that can contend but not when they're together.

As long as Olshey is sold and selling that the team is a 49 win team ascending, we won't make the moves necessary to become contenders or even playoff competitors.

I'm expecting nothing. It'll be fine if we do nothing because we can wait till July and still use our TPE.

However, there's a few prospects that if we take, I'll be extremely frustrated. If we took Grayson Allen at #24.... smh.

But on july 1st few players wont be available for our TPE for example Eric Gordon or Kenneth Faried if I am not mistaken.

A propos, I wanted to read opinions on Capela from clutchfans (bad idea). Some are convinced that Gordon will land them a lottery pick + they will be able to trade away everybody (Anderson and Nene for example) for zero salary coming back and then sign Paul and LeBron for less than 50M COMBINED . That would leave them with only minimum salaries to fill out their 9 last roster spots with "Ring chasins veterans". To be fair, voices are saying that it's a bit illusionary.

I think we are sometimes a bit optimistic. But this...

I got a feeling Suns might jump into this. Offer Chriss/Bender, no. 16, Bucks pick and swap rights for 2019 pick plus take Parsons bad contract. Then have several plans:

A: Select Doncic
B: Select Bagley/Jackson and have immensely strong frontcourt along with Ayton
C: Select Trae Young

Kind of makes sense for both teams.

I don't expect anything either.

I shiver when I hear 'veteran help' today because I know what kind of 'veteran help' we are going to get for a no. 24. The kind of players I am terrified that we will invest ourselves into, giving some sort of weird hope that they are going to transform this team into a contender - the likes of Thad Young, Trevor Booker and Al Jefferson. Brrrr.

I had hopes for the last 3-4 years. Every trade deadline. Every draft. Every july 1st. For what? The Evan Turner and Meyers of the world. An Afflalo trade. But I still have hope. Why? NeO is a smart man and I know he will sometimes find a way to improve this team. He turned the Clippers into a contender. He sure can do the same with us... And I have hope again... To be sad in a few hours. That's the life we chose.

Do you have a dip in your shot? I'm honestly just curious and I don't remember. Not looking to argue haha.

I'm not trying to be a better player. I'm working on improving my refereeing/coaching. I'll be 42 in August and I don't pay n nearly as much as I used to.

So... Maybe?

Today is the day NO makes the moves we've all been waiting for! No more middle of the road for us! WE are finally taking that final step to a championship window. #trusttheolsheyprocess.

I don't believe it either. I just need something positive before we head into the draft. Go Blazers!
