you've been here long enough to know that rumors in the media don't indicate activity. Nothing ever gets out with Neil. How the f*** is there not even 1 Blazers rumor and it’s 2 days before draft??? Is Neil even trying?!

We're already in the tax for next year,I believe, so would only have the taxpayer make anyways. If we weren't, and used the full, we would not be able to go into the tax after(no nurk)I have a timing question. If we use our TPE before July 1 and become a "tax team" once free agency starts, will we lose our non-taxpayer MLE?
Even if Neil is very tight lipped, there are two sides to every trade discussion... how is it possible there are no leaks from the other side if he is really making lots of callsyou've been here long enough to know that rumors in the media don't indicate activity. Nothing ever gets out with Neil.
He's trying to not show his cards. And succeeding. How the f*** is there not even 1 Blazers rumor and it’s 2 days before draft??? Is Neil even trying?!
I don't see it.
True. After July 1, he will make 13.6 mil and be out of consideration. Good call.
24 for Gortat + 15.
Does 15 get us any closer to our target (prospect or otherwise?). That bigger TPE is one of our most valuable assets.
Like if Neil is offering CJ to other teams, how has that information gotten out from the other team’s sideHe's trying. He is just very tight lipped and only talks to Woj when it is time.
But Washington has 10 guys under contract for next year, and is already at 124 in salary. And wall has issues with Gortat. It's already a flawed roster. I don't think they want to pay tax again for an 8th seedIt makes so much more sense for WAS to do this themselves at the deadline. It seems like teams will start valuing expiring contracts more.
Here's what I've learned regarding rumors on bball twitter over the past ten years:Even if Neil is very tight lipped, there are two sides to every trade discussion... how is it possible there are no leaks from the other side if he is really making lots of calls

I don't see the benefit for WAS to dump expiring deals now if the goal is simply to get under the tax. These deals will probably still be there in February. Did realize Wall and Gortat had beef. But Washington has 10 guys under contract for next year, and is already at 124 in salary. And wall has issues with Gortat. It's already a flawed roster. I would do that in an instant. Gortat would be our Ed replacement for a year. And Oubre would take over as starting SF. No way they do thatGortat, Oubre, and 15 for Crabbe TPE, Vonleh TPE, and 24.

We won't have our TPE in February. Will there be cap space available to them? If it's solely to get under the tax, their options might not be as plentiful in February as they would be right now/July 1st.I don't see the benefit for WAS to dump expiring deals now if the goal is simply to get under the tax. No I'm talking from WAS perspective, I know we have about a month to use our AC TPE. Are they really that plentiful now?We won't have our TPE in February. Will there be cap space available to them? This! In theory they could trade Gortat before the deadline, but this summer is going to be tight enough cap space wise so I don't imagine many teams can just take on his contract for no salary back during the season. It would be a huge risk.We won't have our TPE in February. Will there be cap space available to them? I love this time of year. It's like Christmas. Guessing is fun, but I don't want to know what I'm getting until I open the box.Get lost with your logic. I think we should cry more.

Here's what I don't get. Oubre passes the eye test for me. He looks good when we play against them. But when you dig into his numbers....

They look inefficient and pedestrian. Hell, I'm wondering now why I like him so much.![]()

Link?Gortat, Oubre, and 15 for Crabbe TPE, Vonleh TPE, and 24.
Last year was pretty easy. Once the trade between 1 and 3 the first 3 picks were obvious. 4th, 5th, and 6th were also pretty simple. 7 through 10 had pretty educated guesses. I guess the Knicks could have taken DSJ but there wasn't a huge wild card.http://www.nba.com/news/2017-consensus-mock-draft/
It's crazy how accurate these mocks are the week of the draft.
Draftexpress had the top 10 in perfect order.
Here's where it stands for 2018. http://www.nba.com/news/2018-consensus-mock-draft/
There's also probably a ton of group think. And owners/GMs who make calls based on what they see in these mocks.Last year was pretty easy. This year is crazy though. Porter could go anywhere from 2 to 10. Trae Young could also go anywhere from 3-11. There are several bigs that are closely rated and it's hard to decipher which one is going to go first.
3 most likely, pulling this from nowhere, I'd guess Memphis, Cleveland, orlandoIf the Blazers were to trade up, who are their 3 most likely trade partners? Anybody have an idea? Memphis? ? ?
