I know, I know, highlight video blah blah blah; not NBA blah blah blah. But watching this video it's pretty clear that he's significantly better than Vonleh. He might not have Vonleh's immovable base, but he understands how to play the game so much better. His offense is light years ahead of Noah, but his defensive instincts and mobility also look better.

But he's a Center, he has Center like defensive qualities, playing him at PF he could still adjust because he's very intelligent but it would be a Center playing PF defensively.

If we had another such defender at Center (Rolo for example) we could play both and seal the paint

You know i actually think It's originally in English, it's something like what I've forgot he didn't even learn but I forgot how you say it in English

What's the difference between center defensive qualities and power forward defensive qualities? Unless you're talking about size which would work against your argument.

  • Center-like defensive qualities involve:
    • Strength/post defense
    • Rim protection.
    • Collins has the latter, but not the former.
  • PF defensive qualities--in today's game--involve:
    • Having the lateral quickness to be able to guard the perimeter
    • Having the height/length necessary to defend taller shooters, both inside and outside.
    • Collins (arguably) has both of those.
Based on what we've seen from him, his defensive skillset seems better suited for the PF than the C.

Meyers, however, whom you repeatedly refer to as a PF, is definitely better suited for the C spot, because he is significantly heavier/slower than Collins.

Optimally (assuming Meyers can regain his 2015 form), I'd love to see the two of them together.

By his logic there's something other than size and quickness and I'm wondering what that is.

Dame is quick. Probably the 5th quickest in the NBA. Can he guard the perimeter? I'm sure Collins will have an easier time doing that than Butters.

Yeah that's what I'm saying. Collins is better built to play PF at this moment than center.

Wait, so Meyers is more of a PF than Collins? How?

Is it just me, or does it seem like there is less coverage of training camp this year? I feel like a starved puppy.

Not really much to cover I think. Same core. No huge additions. (other than the rookies.) No major story lines coming into the season. I shit you not one of the major discussions on other Blazer media sources was Dame going Vegan. Jordan Bell probably got more coverage by himself.

I mean more like reports of who is doing what, who is looking good, who added something new, etc. There just isn't a lot of reporting going on.
