I wonder if they should try sewing Leonard's eyelids open?

When one team has Lillard AND Nurkic, you have to get some balance.
Sure, but I think it means they are in the top 10 on the team. It also means that Collins is, at least some of the time, playing PF - which is also notable.

Good because that's where I see him long term. I see Swanigan as more of a 5, especially in today's NBA.

You make the team ONLY if you wear what Nurk wears and do what Nurk does. Get your FUCKING hands on your hips Swanigan!!

Morrow is washed up only shot 30% from 3 last year.

It wasn't just Morrow. OKC was dead last in the league in 3-point shooting last season. Their offense was based on a single player dominating the ball more than any other player in NBA history (Westbrook's USG% of 41.7 shattered Kobe Bryant's previous league record of 38.7).

When one player dominates the ball that much, it kills the ball movement required to generate the wide open catch and shoot opportunities conducive to good 3-point shooting.

That's the exact opposite of the Stotts' flow offense that generates a lot of open looks for all of our perimeter players. In Stotts' system, Morrow will get the shots Crabbe got last year.

With that many open looks, I expect to see him return to something closer to his career average of .417 3FG%.

And if he doesn't, waive him before is non-guaranteed contract becomes guaranteed. Zero risk for a potential Crabbe replacement at 1/10th the cost.

Morrow should of had an unlimited amount of uncontested open 3 attempts. With his man always going down to help on WestBrook.

And...... /thread.

Who cares how Morrow shot last season. We traded our best outside threat and that needs to be replaced. These other guys we recently signed for camp can't shoot from outside. This is a quality pickup if you ask me.

This has the hallmarks of the typical Olshey move to pick up a player who is undervalued because they weren't a good fit/properly utilized in their previous system.

After 8 years as one of the best 3-point shooters in league history, Anthony Morrow has one down year playing in an offense that is not conducive to good 3-point shooting, and suddenly he is available for the price of a 1-year minimum non-guaranteed contract.

I posted it in another thread, but I think it bears repeating here:

Only Stephen Curry, Kyle Korver and Klay Thompson have matched Morrow’s career efficiency (41.7%) and volume (8.0 attempts per 100 possessions) while playing even half as many minutes as Morrow.

In the right system, Morrow is a lights out 3-point shooter. He has shot .423 or better 3FG% five times. Among active players, only Kyle Korver and Steph Curry have more seasons with 3FG% ≥ .420 than Anthony Morrow.

For a rhythm shooter like Morrow, I believe Stotts' system is the right type of system to maximize his effectiveness.

Was McMillan still here when we signed Morrow previously? I remember him being pretty disappointing, then finding his touch again with the next team, but that was probably pre-Stotts.

He's never played for Portland. Are you thinking of Dorell Wright?

No, definitely Morrow. I swear we had him on the roster, but ESPN and Wikipedia don't seem to agree with me...

Was it only preseason, maybe? That wouldn't fit with him being traded to NJ, either. I thought we acquired him after his early stint in GS, but I might just be remembering discussions about getting him.

Morrow has never been a blazer. Though I used to trade for him on 2K all the time.

Nope, he's never played for the Blazers, not even in summer league or as a training camp invitee.

Anthony Tolliver was on our team, but I don't think Morrow ever has been.

Harkless just posted an Instagram story from pdx airport. He's back.
