Considering 14/16 left are chalk (Oregon and Auburn are the only two that weren't) and all 12 of the 1, 2, and 3 seeds are still alive I don't really think it's that impressive if your bracket is still in good shape.

Anybody who simply picked the higher seed would have all of their elite 8 left. The next round is where some separation could happen.

UCF and Wofford could've destroyed like 80% of the brackets over the weekend. I still don't know how those two shots both rimmed out against Duke.

How many teams do you have left?

I have 7/8 Elite 8 teams left. The one I missed was I had Wofford as my sleeper team to take down Kentucky and then win once more. It's too bad they had one of their worst shooting games of the year. I'm guessing I'm one of the only people in our group that has Texas Tech in the Final Four so my final place in the standings is pretty dependent on that happening.

Of course I could just say I picked all of them right but somehow must have hit the wrong button when filling out my bracket, right? ;)

agreed

further, over the 10 game win streak, they've been punching within their weight class. Pac-12 teams, Wisconsin, UCI...all those teams weren't more athletic or longer; about the same level. Virginia is a big step up in weight. Worse is that the Duck kryptonite in NCAA tournaments under Altman have been teams that shoot the three well; Virginia is 4th in the NCAA in three-point % and they launch 21 a game

just about everything will have to go right for the Ducks to beat Virginia

Not just Oregon, it is the kryptonite for almost every team every year now. Those teams with 3 and 4 guard lineups that can shoot lights out is a problem for everyone. Virginia does not really have a size advantage since they do not play their bigs much. Out of their top 7 players who get the most minutes.......5 are guards and 2 are forwards. These guys can just flat out shoot. Virginia is 31-3 for a reason. And that is in the ACC.

You can say whatever you want if you are comfortable with lying. I'm certainly not.

What i was asking is what is your record now as we aren't at the elite 8 yet so that part is kind of irrelevant right now.

Agreed. Felt like a chalky tournament going in though.

And I wanted to pick Wofford to go deep too and actually had them in the final four in my original draft. But Kentucky was my sleeper out of the power teams so decided to go the compete other way on that.

Oh, I have 21 teams still left.

This UCLA/Maryland game is quite the barn burner

UCLA scored upset over Maryland in a thriller. Two Pac-12 teams in Sweet Sixteen with three to play.

UCLA gets rewarded with UConn.

Wait. I s San Diego State a Pac-12 team? They just upset Syracuse. Tourney could have a definite west coast look

No, Platypus, I am quite sure Auriemma could pick any coaching job he wants. He has fame, well paid, gets the pick of the best athletes, and they stay four years so he has stability. He'll stay until he decides it's time to retire and prepare his HOF speech.
I kind of thought thats what he trying to say?
Im not really a fan of Geno (though its not his fault), I think having one program so dominant for so long is kind of bad for womens hoops.
Super excited for Oregons tourney run (both mens and womens), Ionescu is legit!

UConn very good but not the one dominant team.

Cal got killed. Zags and Oregon State tied.
It seems that Uconn and Tennessee kind of dominated college hoops for a long time, for women anyways. For a while everytime I would try to watch it seemed like one of those two teams just wrecked everyone. I think it's gotten better the last couple years, Ogunbowale and Ionescu are really good, and other teams seem to be catching up. Just my opinion though.

I have a generic question for all you who know more about hoops then me. In college why do the women play 4 quarters and them men 2 halves?

True, but Tennessee is a shadow of what they once were. I'd list UConn as one of half dozen teams who could win without shocking anyone

Oregon State won. Gonzaga without injured star point guard. Young lady whose father played for Gonzaga and Jazz...may have heard of him.

Steve Young on sidelines for BYU

Gonzaga has a Hachimura, Clark, Tillie lineup out there right now. What an awesome frontcourt.

As an Oregon Fan, wouldnt Hachimura look great in a Blazer Uniform!
Yes! Dude's gonna be something special. His size, speed, and ball handling ability is perfect for a modern 4. If he can develop into a good 3pt shooter (I think he can) then he'll be Tobias Harris 2.0.

Im not 100% sold on his quickness defensively, but I really, really like him. I assume he’s going in the lottery and Im not sure the Blazers have the right type of assets to get him, but I think he could very good here.

He's quick enough to guard 4s.

He'd be great here. He's projected between 10-15. There's no reasonable way to get him.

Unfortunately most 4’s end up having to be able to switch in the modern NBA, he might be able to do fine at it, not sure.
