this dude really wants us to draft him
I've been pondering.... With Boston & Atlanta having so many picks, would anyone be willing to trade the 2020 pick for #17, #20, #21, or #22 (so then we have 2 picks this week)?
If so, what players would you trade the 2020 pick for?
Personally, I think if you can draft Bol Bol with Boston's 20 pick, you do it. I don't think there is anyone else that I'd trade up for in this draft.
This time last year Simons was linked with Portland -- the only player that they worked out twice.
Dead silent this year.
Wild thought on my part, but I was thinking they will purchase another second rounding in memory of PA? As long as sis owns the team she could see this as a way to continue to allow his influence in the draft which he always coveted.
This isn't necessarily true. 2nd round picks can be signed for the minimum without using the MLE but you can only sign them for 2 years that way. By using the MLE to sign Trent to slightly more than the minimum we were able to sign him to a 3-year deal. Obviously we'd probably want to have control over a 2nd round pick for more than 2 years but that is an option if we were preserving the MLE.I can’t see Portland getting a second because they’d have to dip into their MLE to sign them. It worked last year because we pretty much had a full roster and could afford to do it. This year we’re losing multiple rotation players, it’s inevitable.

Technically you're the one jumping the gun. Simons was brought in for a 2nd workout Tuesday before the draft, it's only Monday today. So last year was pretty similar at this point. This time last year Simons was linked with Portland -- the only player that they worked out twice.

Yes, but it doesn't for sure mean we'd lose them in two years. It could be that we'd have a better cap situation to lock them up longer in two years. That would make even less sense for Portland.
I literally said "FCK.. NOOOO.. WHY?!?!" at my TV. My GF was like "Wtf?!" haha.To me, a "bust" clearly means a player who didn't meet expectations. That is different than a bad pick. Anthony Bennett was a bad pick. Andrew Wiggins is a bust (so far).
I had no expectation for Swanigan. So for me he could not be a bust.
If it was widely acknowledged that Swanigan was a reach at 25, then I would say he was a bad pick. But you can't play that game in hindsight.
So I would ask, what were your expectations for Swanigan? Or was he a bad pick?
Bazley or bust.Clarke or bust.
Bazley or bust.
Clarke or bust.
You're gonna have to become a Laker fan for that.Lebron or Bust
