It would be awesome if he takes off for sure. That is the thing about drafting a really young kid. You just don't know exactly what you will get? If they hit well on both Collins and Simmons this could be a whole bunch of fun.

I can not remember anyone saying anything near like what they say about Simons. I remember Dame saying at some point that he looks more focused - and he was the year after that - going from unplayable to an acceptable 3rd string reserve.

I believe he always said that he has improved every year, but I doubt very much you will find that they said it every year (or any year mentioning him as the best player in the gym).

Surely you can recognize the difference between someone getting better each year and someone being talked about like they're going to be a star.

I understand. It was just that Meyers was always gonna have a break out year. It never happened really.
I'm personally hoping Simmons excels and the Blazers enjoy being the team that got the steal for once.

Then there was the CJ Quote that went a little further but i agree.
That was not the point though. A lot of things get said at this point of the season. How about we all just hope Simmons is a great player and all the hype translates into decent play on the court against NBA caliber players.

The Blazers just signed Keljin Blevins to a training camp contract. I'm not sure what the point is other than needing another body. He wasn't even good at Montana State.
