PORTLAND, OR—Local socialist millennial man Matthew Hatter lamented Monday that there are no concrete examples of socialism he can point to in order to have some kind of idea how it would turn out

"If only there were other countries that have tried socialism before," Hatter said to a friend at an ethical coffee shop, Commiebrews, Monday afternoon, after he finished his paper route. "Then, we could see if there are any pitfalls."

Hatter said it'd be nice if there were books that covered things like world history and economics that we could read. If that were the case, Hatter said, we could abandon socialism if it looked dangerous or proceed with socialism if every country that implemented it were incredibly successful.

"Like, say some countries in South America tried socialism before and everybody starved to death," he said. "Or if there were major superpowers who implemented socialism and then, like, 100 million people died---that would be really bad. We could look to these 'books of history' and decide that wouldn't be the route for us."

"Alas, sadly, this isn't the case, so the country will just have to be pioneers and try socialism to see what it's like."

Hatter said he's just glad that if socialism turns out to be terrible, no other country would be dumb enough to follow in our footsteps.

Just watch a documentary on any indigenous tribal people.....takes a village to raise a child. Native americans were good examples of communal society...even more so before they discovered guns

Is EW going to win the nomination?
Watch her pivot to the mid some as I think she will realize that the demo socialism band wagon is probably four years to early to win, but 2024 I see more receptiveness by the country and electorate.
Pete & Joe and Hopefully Amy will pick up steam as they are wanting to embrace independents and moderates like me.
Right now I would lean Pete or Amy and may have to reregister as a Dem.

Right now, it does not look all that rosy for Warren, but there is plenty of time left for another reversal of fortunes.

That reminds me that I saw this bit yesterday:

From medicare for all and a wealth tax to free college and canceling student debt, the conservative systematically dismantled every policy liberals support, though he's going to cave on every single one of these just a few years from now.

The man says he's staunchly opposed to how fast progressives are changing things and prefers the conservative approach of changing the exact same things but just on a little bit of a delay.

"I mean, let's slow down and put things on a five-year lag," he added. "The only way to save this country is for me to half-heartedly resist progressive changes before inevitably making concessions and holding the same beliefs they held just five years ago."

Trump borrowed millions and purposely defaulted on them just so he could get a tax credit.

Why do you continue to make this empty boast without any confidence that either is true? That is to say that Trump will have a Democratic planned assassination attempt or that, without a successful attempt, that Trump would win any election ever again, not that he really won the last one unless you want to count a technical win. Oh, I forgot those four Million illegal immigrants wearing their various Groucho Marx disguises taking buses from precinct to precinct voting for Hillary.
