You're guest solution is to bring help one pass away. We gave up a ton of threes because we overhelped one pass away.

If you think our schemes were good when we've been a bottom 3 defense the last two years, Idk what to tell ya. I'm definitely going to give Chauncey more than one preseason game before being discouraged.
Help one pass away is way more common in today's NBA.

And every NBA team helps at the nail to some degree.

Leaving good shooters open one pass away for wide open catch-and-shoot 3s in order to prevent a downhill 2v1 against your big just isn't a good base scheme in my opinion. Regardless on how much we disagree on drop, I think you should give Billups a little bit more of a chance before you become discouraged.

I'm willing to give him time.

Just not optimistic it's going to work. Don't think it's the best use of our personnel and it's been shown to not work in today's NBA.

It's why we only see it doses (mostly with guards you aren't wanting to switch with, or 4's that can't switch or protect the rim) and nearly nobody has used it as their base scheme in the last 5+ years.

Micro analyzing pre season games lmao what are we doing here?? Billups has even said they haven’t put in everything yet.

Far too often, Nas seems to have some nagging issue that keeps him from playing. It's not an isolated incident anymore.
And a hamstring is one of the very worst nagging injuries to have at the beginning of the season.

How you know Nas is injury prone is the guy barley has minutes under his career and still finds himself always hurt..

Don’t count on him

It could also be that they are required to give a reason for not playing as in fake injury?

They used "rest" as the reason for Dame.

Its possible it could be very minor hamstring issue and he would be active in a regular season game.

I agree with others, Hamstring isn't something you want to see as even a minor injury though.

Its just rest. Jokic is playing every other game too. Plus the coaching staff wants to see what they have with the rest of the team. It's about evaluation, not wins.

The season starts in 9 days against the same team. My guess is they want to give Chriss, Smith, and Patterson some major minutes tonight before releasing 2-3 of them so they can catch on somewhere else.

I was not impressed with Chriss's last game. Hopefully, with some major minutes, he can show more. We need a big.

my theory based on nothing but a feeling is that smith has already made the team and they’re gonna let the rest showcase for other teams before cutting them.

its gonna be dennis smith jr, its not official, but they know it already

chauncey billups spoke about him days ago, it sounded like hes going to be part of the rotation

Well then what he has put in they need right before they can on with something else.

Coach Chauncey also spoke a lot about Patterson.

Simons looks significantly better. If he plays like this in the regular season he pretty much forces a decision. CJ or Simons. Those are our best trade assets, so pick one and trade the other.

It kind of depends on who we are trading for since there is about a 25 million dollar difference in their 2 salaries.

The idea of dealing CJ and going with Dame/Powell, Smith/Simons guard rotation is sounding better and better to me.
