They traded for Gordon because they were missing someone like Grant.
Also because Gordon's a lot better than Grant.

All right, he's not actually - because he can't shoot. But then the Nuggets have MPJ, which is probably why they were content to let Grant walk.

Well if Beal doesn't ask out, at least that kills a scenario that Morey is hoping for.

So they have room for Powell now. Detroit is stupid so I can definitely see them trying to pay Powell.

they'l have two top 7 picks in recent drafts as their back court. i don't see it.

irrelevant to the point. @Natebishop3 was intimating that grant missing was the reason they were worse than the year before.

no, it was murray missing as the main reason.

They're fucking stupid. I didn't see him signing a 30 year old Plumlee only to attach assets to dump him a year later. Or paying 20M/Year for Grant. Or buying out Griffin and eating all that dead cap.

Denver Nuggets winning % 18-19: 0.659
Denver Nuggets winning % 19-20: 0.630
Denver Nuggets winning % 20-21: 0.653

Which season did they have Grant, again?

I've got an answer for Detroit and making sure we keep Powell. They could even go after John Collins after freeing up that much cap space.

powell also isn't going to a rebuilding situation.

Not really. They were worse before they traded for Gordon. Which prompted them to trade for Gordon. Murray getting hurt later of course tanked their playoff chances, but losing Grant was part of the reason they were forced to make the Gordon trade.

Or I can just wait for you to cite RPM, like you always do, as the be all-end all.
Seems like you have plenty of time on your hands. Maybe you've just checked your fave advanced stats and are a little surprised at how crappy Grant looks.

I have no fucking clue why I'm talking about Grant so much. I still think we're getting Simmons and if we don't I think we have a good shot at Siakam.

The amount of evidence you're providing to prove your point is staggering.

His first year in Detroit, Grant's usage went from 18% to 28.5% and his PER was about the same and nearly every other efficiency stat went down. His offensive win shares nearly went down by a half.

This is not an impact player who you bill as a second star.

He's a really good role player who I think we can get without giving up our only tradeable asset. I'm finding it hard to believe that people disagree with this assessment. Trading CJ for Grant might make us worse, but it certainly won't make us a contender.
