Why? You really thought we'd make some big splash on draft night with zero first or second round picks? lol
It's not that we're doing nothing so much as that teams worse than us are getting better.

But also I'm peevish about the fact that we have zero picks.

Just shows you the draft is a crapshoot when teams like the Knicks trade away their picks for , basically Meh. The Knicks aren't that good. Teams won't take them lightly next year. They may end up back in the Lottery, no matter how much cap room they have.

I was thinking the same as NY kept trading back. I was thinking that it was somehow a salary cap strategy, or their scouts thought the next 30 players are all about the same.

Doesn't surprise me the Blazers aren't trading for a pick. Neil may buy into the second. Probably not though. He has to take things seriously this year. No more rookies. Gotta get veteran players of known quantity who can help Portland improve immediately. Was hoping for a big trade. Neil is probably waiting for a better deal for Simmons or Siakam when they don't get any bites tonight.

This attitude pisses me off. Rookies can contribute instantly - even second rounders. You just have to BE GOOD AT YOUR JOB and find the right ones.

You always needs development players in that 13 and 14 players. So if he buys in then I don't have a problem with that. But I fill he will stand fast.

That Lillard guy sorta helped out his rookie season.

Right now I am not sure there is much of a difference in the picks after the lottery. So I wonder if that extends another 20 players after the 2nd round too. Should be easier to sign a couple of rookie FA's when the team did not draft anyone. (Less competition to make the team)

houston rockets & orlando magic did a fairly good job at drafting, which is exactly what you need when rebuilding

Neil will mine last years rookies as teams get the new flavor of the summer picks on their roster...

Really hoping Dame's buddy McKinley Wright IV slips out of the draft.

I wish I had your faith in Neil.

That said: if he does, I hope he goes after the Mavs' first rounders that they didn't play last year (Tyler Bey and Tyrell Terry), especially as they have an all-new FO and won't feel any loyalty to Nelson's picks.

Because that's how you're going to get Dame to stay. One more year of development....

Come on now.

If you want Simmons you have t0 wait until Philly stops asking for the moon. Which then ties up your assets until that dream is crushed.

Olshey’s greatest move might just be convincing Lillard to stay another year. That’s altogether inexcusable IMO…
