2022-2023 back up PG....Josh Hart?

This came from the exit interviews where Hart brought this up. They discussed it on the Jacked Ramsays podcast even further. (Around the 50 minute mark) Chauncey talked about how he felt they were undersized in the backcourt on a nightly basis. Do you think he can effectively be the backup PG? Would that be for when Dame was out and he was in there with Ant? I thought Ant looked good as the lead guard.

But Neil always said it was impossible. That Portland sucked, didn't have enough valet drivers, wasn't sunny enough, and had no smart people in the entire region except for himself.

it would be nice if Portland had some guys who could pass that the Blazers didn't automatically consider as PG's just because under Olshey they were loathe to add a decent backup PG. Nothing wrong, at all, with having 2-3 PG's AND some wings with passing skills. In fact, I think it's essential

I wouldnt say backup PG, but its pretty clear that Billups values ballhandling/playmaking in all his guards. I'm guessing Hart will be a focal point of the second unit, so makes sense that Billups wants him to improve his playmaking.

edit: this also gives a little insight to what Billups is planning for his starting unit next season. I dont think Hart will be starting at SF. I think its more likely it'll be someone with more size, like Winslow or Nas.

I think we've seen how Billups likes for any player on a defensive rebound to push the ball, no more slow methodical, allow D to set up pace.

At face value, it implies that Billups doesn't want a continuation of shorter SGs (or SFs for that matter). [There are outliers, so I'm not saying it as an absolute.] This is good news.
Lillard, Simons, and Hart looks good for the guard rotation. It's all about fixing the forward spots and back-up center.

Yep and his side kick sg w/pistons was 6’7”
