If Sharpe performs at a All-Rookie First Team level, does he raise the ceiling on the teams playoff chances?

Yes. If Sharpe is all-rookie first team, we are either a playoff team or we started tanking super early.

Unlikely he will make the first team, and not because he isn't talented. Guys like Paolo, Ivey, Duren, Smith, Murray, and Mathurin are going to get more minutes.

I’m glad we signed Nas for cheap. Just bench him and give all the minutes to Shaedon

Most likely Sharpe and Nas.

I think we'll be rolling out some small ball units with Gary. He's a great rebounder and good at switching on bigs so I could see him eating up some Eubanks minutes (with combos of Grant, Winslow, Nas, Walker, Watford at 3 to 5).

Dame's shot just isn't falling like he's used to.
He was off balance on most of them. Balance has always been one of Dame's superpowers. Hopefully it comes back quickly.

Just finished watching the game, we got away with one there !

I felt Dame was bad bu he did end up with 20/8... the splits were awful though, 5-18 and 1-8 from three, and 4 TO. Not sure playing him 37 minutes was warranted especially with Sharpe balling out. People need to chill though, it's one game let's see how he looks 20 games in.
Ant was decent. Bad at first but picked it up towards the end.
Hart and Grant were good. Grant with the team high 23 points on just 11 shots and he saved our asses a couple time with a clutch 3 when things were spiraling out of control.
Nurk... SOFT. Played terrible
Winslow didn't do too much in the first half, but was good in the 2nd and his defense at the end was instrumental.
Eubanks had his moments defensively in the 3rd but other than that got burnt over and over and didn't do anything of offense. Man that center rotation looks bad.
Little only played 10 minutes and looked terrible.
Sharp was impressive, on, both ends. Could even have played a bit more I think.

I'll give credit to Chauncey on a few things: Sharpe over Keon, Benching Nurk early when he was playing super soft, and ending the game with winslow on Sabonis.

Winslow with the far and away game high +21, Sharpe second best with +8. Nurk game worst -7

I feel this was a pretty good win for the Blazers coming on the road. Very easily could have lost that.
One thing to remember is that the Kings are not very good. Projections have them on par with the Blazers at 35 wins this year. I wanted to look up what their projections were to start the season.
Kings- ESPN has then at 34-48, 538 has them 33-49, Caesars has them 34.5 wins.
Here is a funny discrepancy
Blazers- ESPN ranked the Kings 20th in the League and the Blazers 21st but called the Blazers to win more games at 35-47, 538 has them at 38-44, Caesars has at 40.5 wins.

How does ESPN have the Kings ranked higher than the Blazers while all three have the Blazers winning more games?

The players everyone's excusing/lambasting: Dame, Ant, Nurk, Nas--acquired by Olshey.
Only a very few are lambasting Dame? Pretty much those that have questionable takes at best?
Have not seen many post picking on Simons? The kid showed up at the end on the road.
Nassir Little only played 10 mins?
Yeah Nurk is soft. We all knew that. I personally was glad to see Chauncy go with players who were playing with energy and were willing to get dirty. I personally have seen enough of Nurk and i am willing to bet Billups gets sick of watching the guy also.

I'm saying they were all below average in terms of offensive efficiency. 48 points on 49 shots, while the rest of the team scored 63 on just 39 shots.

The point is that this team may, in fact, actually have enough quality depth that they can win games without being so dependent on its top 2-3 players, and that's a good thing.
Also, the threat of Dame and Ant make it easier for those guys to score efficiently. Now we got guys that can take advantage.

this is a really good road win, team looked much better than in pre-season, but thats why you dont make judgements based on pre-season, competitive bball is something else and i was really happy with our defense for the most part: interior defense was really good (man on man & help defense), we were disruptive in passing lanes, i think we switched well too, we contested three pointers (some were wide open), but the effort was there and thats exactly how we played last season when our main guys were gone/injured and given how strong western conference is, you have to give your best effort to win games

when some guys are not scoring well (dame & nurk last night), the other guys have to step up and grant, hart, winslow & sharpe sure did, ant was solid, but he can do better

it will require time for the team to gel on both ends of the floor, but im optimistic, sacramento is no joke, they will win games this season
