LOL...make a choice because you couldn't afford Powell and Grant or Powell and Simons.

Powell or Simons....I choose Simons
Powell or Grant....I choose Grant
Powell or Hart....I choose Hart
That was literally my point?

I thought it was pretty clear he'd have lost that challenge. I can see that you think that maybe the 5% chance they'd overturn it was the Blazers' only hope, but, to me, that's like throwing away the challenge/time out.

He was moving. He didn't have position. That was bullshit. The refs were out to foul him out.

I guess it didn't help we got shitty Nurk tonight.

Clippers were also great at targeting Simons on defense. Every possession in the 4th went after Simons and they scored almost every time. Simons had to play 43 minutes, carry the entire burden on offense, and then also expected to be engaged on every defensive possession. Yeah this loss isn't on him, we need better balance in the rotation, it's just hard with all our injuries - plus most of our bench guys are challenged offensive players.
People are blaming Ant for getting cooked by Norm but Norm was cooking Grant equally as much.

Pathetic 4th, complete meltdown. Shoulda challenged the Grant foul, there was a reach in foul on RoCo I believe on Grants arm BEFORE the charge.

about 12 days ago the Blazers were 7th in the league in defense; they were 21st, before tonight

Everyone is saying play Sharpe but the most like scenario with Sharpe out there is that he also misses a bunch of shots, loses a bunch of rotations on defense, and we probably lose by more.
Maybe, but we didn't stop them on defense without Sharpe making that point irrelevant and they were able to sag off four of the five guys on the court and double Ant with no fear of being punished with a 3. Sharpe was our only shooter on the bench. I mean that's part of the problem right there. We need more shooters on the bench.

Speaking of Sharpe was he hurt before or after the 20 point game he had?

Yeah, it’s so easy to make shots when the other 4 guys on the court aren’t shooters so he’s being face guarded. Gimme a break.

True, but it's also true that to reach his potential he has to find other ways. He's so athletic. Do something other than waiting to the open 3. Drive. Go over people. Draw fouls. Get to the line. Stunt their momentum.

Too often he gets on a hot streak so the other team ups the ante and really guards him and he becomes Claude Raines.

Fair enough. I thought he was there and it would have been called a charge. Certainly even harder because you'd need the visual evidence to overturn it, but I respect your opinion.

TNT gang talking about how that Clippers team is loaded with talent and when they are healthy they are an absolute contender.
I agree.
Their role players are deeper and better than a bunch of teams.

How about 6th man like in Toronto and LA

not at 17M/year. Ballmer isn't the Blazers owner

it doesn't fucking matter anyway, the Clippers trade was necessary to precede the CJ trade. It's a process and you can't just isolate one part of the process

How do you expect him to do that when the moment he crossed half court they would blitz and double him. The defense had no concerns about the other guys on the court.
