Game Thread 2022-23 Game #40 - BLAZERS VS MAGIC - JANUARY 10, 2023 - TUESDAY - 7:00 PM (PDT)

Welcome to our community

Be a part of something great, join today!

I'm starting to get concerned. We're not getting it. Dame had one of the most lackluster 30-point games I can imagine, going 2-for-12 from 3 and being part of a defensive mess.

We just think we can turn the mental effort on and off and we're good enough to get away with that.

My girlfriend bet me that if we win tonight, she will go to Victoria Secret tomorrow and surprise me tomorrow night... If we lose however, I must go with her to her cousin's birthday party this weekend instead, who I can't stand because she's a condescending bitch!

Help me out fellas and get this win!

Sorry man. What it is to be a Blazer fan.

I’d be lying if I said I didn’t see this loss coming. We’ve been butt shitty lately and the Magic are a scrappy young team

Sure but to be the first team to lose to the Magic on the second night of a back to back for them should tell Cronin everything he needs to know about this roster and how it works under Chauncey.

Portland dug a 16 point hole in the 1st Q and were able to climb all the way out of it by halftime. But that was so much fun they dug a 15 point hole in the 3rdQ and fell 3 points shy of climbing out of that one. Too many dead zones in games for Portland over the last 2 weeks

things aren't working, and haven't been working for several weeks...on either end of the floor. It's now on the coaches to start figuring this shit out because the Blazers should not be as disorganized as they currently are, and their talent should not be so wasted in long periods of games

* I do not know what the fuck Chauncey was thinking by having Dame guard Wagner. That was just fucking dumb. Yes, Dame does a really good job on post up defense. But Wagner is not a post up player. He's a dribble drive player who can drive with either hand; and he's 6'10 for chrissakes. That choice was just a major coaching mistake

too add to this: Orlando is 6'10 across all three front-court positions. The Blazers have lost the last 3 games to teams with really good length. Cronin has to address that by the trade deadline

I know Dame couldn't hit threes but at least he didn't put up more shots than points. Both JG and Ant did that tonight. Ant 15 points on 16 shots and Grant 16 points on 19 shots. Yikes that is some inefficient ball. Dame got 30 points on 25 shots, hardly a model for efficiency but still not as terrible as those other two.

Dame would have bricked it anyways. Moot point.

Why do you think Cronin is suddenly going to know what to do with evidence?

He's the one who made the trades to get us to where we are in spite of the obvious dead end nature of such moves.

He also said after those trades that this team is incomplete and he would be evaluating and looking to make moves around mid-season. Well it's around mid-season and on Sunday every player on the roster can be traded.

3 game home predictions against Cavs, Mavs, Mavs? 1-2 for me

I guess a pretty good case could be made that Cronin made bone-headed moves. Sure he is not done but, christ, I fail to see how he can do much at this point. IMHO he should be selling not buying.

He can say whatever he wants to say. It doesn't mean that it is true and it doesn't mean that it's logical or likely.

He said he was going to build a winner around Dame. He made moves that (to some of us) clearly weren't going to be sufficient for anything other than a ~.500 team.

The season is obviously still going, but so far it appears that Cronin doubters have been right at every turn (the only moves I've liked were on draft day) and I don't know why he'd suddenly be able to trade guys he signed to big contracts and make the team better. It's possible, of course, but it's not likely.

Magic were 0-7 in back to backs. I feel a total rebuild is the only way forward.

The clippers trade has come back to bite us badly.. we have no bench and gave up assets for nothing. Hell even the cj trade wasn’t that good, we could of used nance still.

Blazers 31-35 (89%) at the rim tonight.
