My questions is why is it that other teams run the pick and roll and the roll guys seems to get multiple wide open trip dunks a game. Is it just how the Blazers play and the person who is suppose to be covering late? to small? It just doesn't seem like the Blazers get as many of these opportunities with their high pick and roll as other teams do against our defense

Because Nurk doesn't dunk. He tries to sashay to the rim and finger roll the ball.

well this is frustrating.

3 incorrect calls/no calls in the final 2 minutes. all with portland being disadvantaged.

https://official.nba.com/l2m/L2MReport.html?gameId=0022200116

Q4 01:23.1 Foul: Loose Ball
Comment: Adams (MEM) clamps and pulls Nurkic's (POR) arm and affects his ability to rebound.

Q4 01:16.2 Turnover: Traveling Jerami
Comment: Grant (POR) gathers the ball on his right foot, takes his first step with his left, and legally lands in a jump stop before jumping with both feet on his shot attempt.

Q4 01:00.0 Turnover: 3 Second Violation
Comment: Bane (MEM) is in the lane for longer than three seconds.

Yeah, they were looking to take this one from us.

Basically a 4 point swing (2FT Nurk didn't get, 2FT Bane wouldn't have got). Would have made the final minute completely different.

Are goal tends now a subjective judgment call? Somebody mentioned that they heard that during the game from one of our game announcers. That would be stupid.

I am ok with the incorrect non-calls because maybe they just didn't see it. But it pisses me off when they blow the whistle at the end of a game on something that never happened. How many times during a game do players travel and there is no call? Yet they blow the whistle on Grant with 1:16 left when he doesn't even travel? I was pissed last night and now I am pissed all over again.

So that's at least 2 travels Grant got that were BS

FIRE STOTTS!

I would not have taken Hart out of the game at the end. You need his grit in this kind of game. I thought Keon looked fantastic. Odd man out was Sharpe, who didn't earn crunch time minutes based on his earlier performance. IMO playing Sharpe in this game would have likely done more harm to his psyche than any potential benefit to his development. And Keon was playing much better. Sharpe will get his chances.

It’ll be good for Sharpe to know he’ll have to earn the extra minutes. I get the 15mpg minimum for him, but he should have to compete for every minute after that. And if a different young guy has it going that night, stick with that guy. I liked the decision.

The advantage to an incorrect call is most can be reviewed and overturned. An incorrect non-call is much more difficult to have reversed because live action often continues.

I just watched this on the plane ride down here to Phoenix. Wow!

definitely annoying, but these things usually balance out by season's end.
or by the next game...

guessing phoenix won't be too happy about the L2M report in this one. But they got away with hacking Nurk on that play he lost the ball OOB
