Making the playoffs this year would be almost the worst thing possible because they lose the pick.
Losing the pick, winning the pick. Big deal. It’s not going to make much difference either way, believe me. This team is a long, long way from being a contender.

I have really hard times understanding this team's philosophy. They were going all in and going young at the same time, fought for playoffs and tanked at the same time, so why can't they lose and do SOME coaching at the same time?

Portland is really good at making bad trades and tanking for picks. It will be almost impossible to not show improvement next season.

Not going to make much difference?? We could draft a star or trade for a star with this pick! We’re not tanking for nothing.

Can't throw a rock into the ocean?

Dude is shooting 39% from 3.

Currently leads the team in steals (almost 2 a game) and 2nd in blocks.

It's like you don't have any idea what you're talking about.

Thybulle is an absolute KEEPER! Love this kid’s game. If you are expecting any offense out of him, you don’t understand the game. What he does is so important to winning. Reminds me of Stacy Augman.

need to step away before i melt down. this is rough.

props to all the people in moda who can bear this without throwing shit onto the floor.

fuck you jody

fuck you bert

fuck you joe

fuck you chauncey.

all yall need to leave my team.
This guy seems really frustrated. He must have thought we were going to win this game. Wonder how he’ll handle the rest of the season.

And yet you’ll unfortunately continue to show up and complain every day regardless?

I believe I read many posts like this about a year ago on here.

CJ was kind of an ass in the post game, especially considering he's on a play-in team, not a top seed; a team that has gone 74-83 over the last 2 seasons

seems like people are holding Portland, and the moves it makes, to what I consider is a false gauge of 'are they a contender now'. Practically speaking it was only a little more than a year ago that Portland finally stopped allowing Olshey to dig a deeper and deeper hole. The dismantling of that dysfunctional roster + terrible assets and prospects started last February. It's well beyond unrealistic to expect the Blazers could transform from dysfunctional--->functional, and from bad assets--->good assets in a year.

Portland was in a terrible situation last January, and it was painfully obvious, that they were going to have to get worse before they could hope to find a path to get better. You can debate whether or not the path their plotting is a good path; I have my doubts too. But in my mind there was absolutely no doubt at all that dismantling that idiot team of last January was absolutely necessary. I'd much rather have the prospect of the high lottery picks of last year and this, than the long shot of advancing to a near-certain 1st round exit out of a play-in slot. And that's where Portland was

there's some hope now. Sure it could be argued it's faint hope, but it's still there. Last January's team offered no hope at all

I think if he played from the start of the season, he would've eventually been the starter from the get-go. People seem to forget that Doc Rivers is an idiot who ruins players.

In all honesty, CJ was an ass often. But since he was on the Blazers, we over-looked a lot of his ass-hattery. Think about how many times he would do cheap shot fouls?

This is better than the end to last season.
We have Sharpe to watch instead of Blevins and Elleby, and the Tank looks like it's going to be more effective.
Last year's tank deployment was a top 5 worst NBA roster ever constructed. Minumum number of able bodies, a couple inexperienced rookies, a bad sophmore, and a handful of G-League players on multiple 10 day contracts. Ben McLemore was the only established pro, but i think he missed the last couple weeks of the season. Blazers had to resign Reggie Perry's 10 day for the last day of the year after initially sending him back, because Portland couldn't field enough players to make an official roster. The temporary tank Blazers even let Lillard's cousin Keljin Blevins start a couple games, but he didn't play much afterwards because he was firing off air balls that didn't even enter the painted area.

This year's Blazer tank are legit contracted professionals. They're not the best players in the league, but still a step up from G-League. They had a rough go at it last night. It's to be expected on a back to back against a hungry Pelicans team who have kicked it up a notch recently.

I think we'll have a big turnaround next season with that said don't challenge an ownership group, GM and head coach who have all shown themselves very capable of doing worse, to continue that trend.

I said it in another post, there are two ways this off season goes: we make Dame happy by making this roster better with established talent or Joe tells Dame he can't get it done almost forcing Dame to ask out and we/Joe epitomize kicking the can down the road by trading Dame and probably Nurk, along with letting Grant walk and do a youth rebuild around Ant, Shae and our two first rounders that we'll have.

You CJ haters are bonkers. Practically chased him out of town, then get your panties in a wad when he mildly expresses satisfaction in seeing the team struggle after he's gone. Like, you know, a natural human response to being emotionally invested in something.

And yet, Nurk was celebrated for wishing Denver happy summer.

LOL...yeah...."haters".

if Dame ever gets traded do you think he'll laugh about Portland not making the playoffs? Hart went out of his way to praise the organization and he was only in Portland for a year. CJ was in Portland for 9 seasons and they paid him 140M, but sure, he's justified in laughing about the Blazers

you claim it was a normal response. I agree, it was a normal response for someone being kind of an ass...which is what I said
