Three unprotected firsts?! holy hell
Three unprotected firsts?! holy hell
They are going to be better than us next year.Wolves L
Exhibit A of someone willing to say another team did a bad trade, but a history of never letting anyone say we did a bad trade without mocking them.Five firsts if you include Kessler. Also Vanderbilt who's one of the most underrated defenders in the league. Beverley is an expiring but fits well next to Mitchell and Conley and makes every team hes on better. Beasley is a good spacer. Lol Connelly got worked by Ainge here imo

We could probably get a better package for Dame.Wow. If we could get this package for Dame, we should trade him. I can't believe I'm saying this.
Three unprotected firsts?! holy hell
Maybe because he refuses to take less.why do teams keep giving Ainge unprotected picks? this just feeds into the narrative that he's a good GM/pres.
Maybe because he refuses to take less.
Who owns their warchest and needs a point guard?
New York? They just got Brunson so probably not.
New Orleans? Definitely a candidate?
Miami? They can if they remove some protections on their 2025 pick. But not a fan of this. Miami is too well run for those picks to ever be lottery picks.

WHO SAYS NO?
At this point, I don't think we can afford to trade Dame until we know the draft order next year and have a firm "no" from whoever has 1.01. Wembanaya absolutely needs to be the goal in a Dame trade, if at all possible.
I don't see a team willing to trade Wembanaya for Dame straight up this next offseason. Whoever gets him will likely be rebuilding themselves and people think he is a generational talent. If you really wanted to go after him you would want to deal Dame now for an unprotected 1st in 2023 (along with many other things, of course) and tank this season yourself. At this point, I don't think we can afford to trade Dame until we know the draft order next year and have a firm "no" from whoever has 1.01.
