But again, no would-be contenders have a worthwhile cache of assets to trade for him. I had suggested Washington before the draft (Avdija,Hachimura, their pick and future picks), but now that they've picked Davis I'm less interested.I don't see a team willing to trade Wembanaya for Dame straight up this next offseason. Whoever gets him will likely be rebuilding themselves and people think he is a generational talent. If you really wanted to go after him you would want to deal Dame now for an unprotected 1st in 2023 (along with many other things, of course) and tank this season yourself.
why do teams keep giving Ainge unprotected picks? this just feeds into the narrative that he's a good GM/pres.
So many did when some of us wanted him. It was dumbfounding.Because he is. He knows the art of negotiation. Those draft picks generally pan out too.
I can’t see how anyone can deny he’s a good GM

he's also the guy who traded a chance at brandon roy for sebastian telfair.Because he is. He knows the art of negotiation. Those draft picks generally pan out too.

I think Ainge has been good at drafting. Have a lot of Boston friends. Happy to see him go.Because he is. He knows the art of negotiation. Those draft picks generally pan out too.

he's also the guy who wanted to trade 4 first round picks for justice winslow.
he's also the guy who screwed up a bunch of drafts after hitting gold with Tatum/Brown.
i just think he's a slimy creeper who is unscrupulous.
remember how AD and his camp said they would never play for boston with Ainge in charge after how he handled the Isaiah Thomas situation.

Ainge got the Nets first rounder for Royce O’Neal, then five from MN. OKC part 2, but they are keeping Donovan Mitchell?
The guy spent years acquiring all kinds of "assets" (and getting all kinds of pats on the back for it), yet out of all his machinations he got exactly one championship. And he only got that because his good buddy McHale was willing to shit all over the team he was supposed to be running (Minnesota), just so his pal could win a ring. Without the handjob from McHale, Ainge wins exactly nothing. He is waaaayyy overrated. That said, he did just fleece Minnesota again. But even a blind squirrel finds an acorn every now and again.......Because he is. He knows the art of negotiation. Those draft picks generally pan out too.

Doesn't work.@PtldPlatypus @RR7 @B-Roy @hoopsjock
does something like this comply with the CBA? does a team like Utah need more incentive?
Partial guarantee Bledsoe + Keon + future second for Gay?
I wonder if Portland could find a way to get Vanderbilt in this trade.Five firsts if you include Kessler. Also Vanderbilt who's one of the most underrated defenders in the league. Beverley is an expiring but fits well next to Mitchell and Conley and makes every team hes on better. Beasley is a good spacer. Lol Connelly got worked by Ainge here imo

If Gobert equals 5 first round picks. Dame should be around 10-12 first round picks if we trade him.

We don't have Danny Ainge though.
I don't think that's the key though
there may be only one GM in the league who thinks pairing Gobert and KAT is a great idea worth 5 first's and some young prospects. Put another way, there is only one GM who slept thru the last 7 years of NBA basketball and demise of the big man, then woke up determined to make David Kahn look like a great Minny GM
If you were Dame, would you want to commit an additional 2 years to this franchise? Maybe for $100M...maaaayyyyybeee...So our roster is basically set. Is Dame extending or not?
joe et al might have already started their long weekend early after the nurk/eubanks stuff. So our roster is basically set. Is Dame extending or not?
Not only did he get the one championship in 2008 but he completely rebuilt the team into the roster that made the Finals THIS year. Meanwhile, Blazers haven’t been to Finals in 30 years.
