He said he did what King Richard would do in protecting his.All I know is if The Rock had made that joke instead of Chris Rock, that slap never happens. Will Smith is a bully type.
Also, what if Amy Schumer had made that joke? Well, it was a funny joke, so I guess Amy Schumer would not have made that joke, but you get my point
He assaulted someone….periodHe said he did what King Richard would do in protecting his.
I read where some black ladies now look at him as a wholesome man because he stood up for his women?
I think they are both decent people and this controversy is nothing like some that happen in that industry.
Speaking of punching, I want to punch every one of those soccer moms that hold their phones wrong when they record anything.
He sure did..in Oregon assault 2 is a 7 year measure 11 crime.He assaulted someone….period
This is one of the dumbest things in the world. Tell that to the kids that cry everytime a bully tells them they are less than. Or anyone going through something. Words can and do often hurt. Be kind. Also, whatever happened to "Sticks and stones can break my bones but words will never hurt me"?
Not really. Don't make fun of someone elses medical condition, physical appearance, disability, race. It isn't that hard. If Rock wouldn't have done that he wouldn't have gotten smacked upside the head. Hopefully he won't do it again.I think most of us were bullied in some shape or form as kids, some got it worse than others. Luckily I grew up to have pretty thick skin and I understand others aren't as lucky. That said physical violence should only be used in extreme circumstances and Sunday night at the Oscars was NOT an extreme circumstance. Thank you though for ignoring the meat of my post and only sticking to the last line, I'll assume you agree that Smith was much more the 'bully' in this situation and knew he had the physical advantage on the much smaller Rock.

Of course you don't jump into a fist fight at the very beginning. But words can be considered violence too. It wasn't like he killed him. He absolutely could have put him in the hospital.
Some do get bullied worse than others. Why bully at all? I've seen kids with lifelong disabilities get ruthlessly tormented and left out. Any form of bullying is wrong, especially with children.
Do you not think kids watching adults making fun of anothers appearance has an influence on them? You're the only one that equates this situation with bullying of kids, and no one that I've read has disagreed with you on the fact that kids shouldn't be bullied for their appearance, yet you continue to try and equate the two.
As for making fun of peoples appearance, that's what has been done at these award shows for years, it's part of the social contract they sign up for when they are the 'star' of the show. Seems like that has been changing for a while now, and I'm guessing this will be an accelerant to more of that change.
Early Signs of nonverbal learning disorder:
Often misses social cues such as facial expression or tone of voice, making it hard to make and keep friends1
Needs to verbalize things to understand them
Struggles with reading comprehension or mathematical problem solving
Physically clumsy, often bumps into objects or people
Thinks of things in literal terms and struggles with metaphors or abstract concepts
Do you not think kids watching adults making fun of anothers appearance has an influence on them?
Even without the kids, is it ok for an adult to make fun of another persons appearance? Would.it change things if Jada had cancer and not Alopecia? Would that mean more to you?
Leave the personal insults about someones appearance at the door. Or else risk getting smacked.
A medical condition is a medical condition. Obviously cancer is a huge deal. But you have no idea how someone is handling their condition mentally. Health stuff sucks. I can't imagine what it would be as a woman losing their hair. "She must have zero sense of humor". How about, it is something she is really struggling with in regards to her self worth and it was a knife to that self conscious part?Yes I think a life threatening disease would mean more to most people than a non life threatening one. Again, this is an act that has been done long before any of us were here. It's been a part of the social contract that they sign up for with these big awards, they are going to make fun of you, and sometimes that means appearance, doesn't matter if I think it's right or wrong. Seems like this was a perfect storm, where it wasn't that funny a joke, it was made towards a person that seems to have zero sense of humor when it comes to herself and her husband has been drug through the emotional wringer by his wife and the media over the last year or so while also the stress of trying to win an award he's coveted for decades. Add in that Rock is a smaller man and that Smith felt like he could get away with being violent towards him and you get what we got. I'm not sure what of all that was right or wrong, that's for everyone to decide for themselves I guess.
Off the subject .... Kind of?A medical condition is a medical condition. Obviously cancer is a huge deal. But you have no idea how someone is handling their condition mentally. Health stuff sucks. Better to leave jokes about someones physical appearance alone.
I was going for a Buffalo Bill put the lotion on the skin vibe.Off the subject .... Kind of?
Your moniker picture speaks volumes.

There he is...hope you'e doing better Lanny! He said he did what King Richard would do in protecting his.

Not doing too well. There he is...hope you'e doing better Lanny!
There is a thread about you in the OTNot doing too well.
Doesn't mean he shouldn't have been smacked when he was younger.
Not advocating for it. I would prefer people don't make fun of others for their appearance. I would prefer adults and children would be more understanding to people with differences outside the norm.Advocating against violence against women while advocating that Will Smith should use violence against Chris Rock.
I am sorry. But you seem to be simultaneously advocating for, as well as, against violence.
Except its not. Call out when people make jokes about someone elses appearance.Look, it was a tasteless joke. It wasn't right. It wasn't right to get physical.
Nobody is hurt long term, and we all got to joke about it.
This is about the most pointless thing in the world to be angry about.
