Thybulle and Camara have been total blanks at the 3. Scoot is a turnover machine so far

I'm not worried since I knew we would suck. Also I think Russ got in Scoot's head and the first game jitters kicked in. I also think Scoot is floored by the speed of the game. The game will slow down for him and he will improve. I'm not worried, one doesn't play like he did in the G-League and then suck. Durant if I recall correctly looked awful his first game. If this were to continue for say 10 games, then yeah, I'd be mega worried.

One half in the books.

Scoot still without his first points or assists.

I’m all for rookie development, but I also like to see players earn their playing time. Should Brogdon be starting?

We have good players. We just need some time to gel. This team is better on paper than they're playing tonight. I'm reserving judgement until December.

Ill just say this.. that first half sure reminds me of the time i realized "wait, maybe Harry Giles is a bit overrated" cuz I remember when Team USA played against Zubac in some Fiba tournament

and Zubac completely shut down Giles made him look like a small forward out there.. n giles was super highly ranked at the time n a presumed shoe-in to go in the lottery...

but Zubac does deserve some credit guys --- he played great in that 1st half... its not all the shortcomings of the blazers.. sometimes the opposition steps up..

I will say this Ant an especially Grant are going to annoy me all year forcing up shots that are trash. If they are open by all means, but we are young so they are going to force so much
The would be down 40 if not for them

They need to Start Simons & Shae and bring Scoot off the bench.

Another stat that totally is consistent with my watching of the game:

Clippers: 21 first half assists
Blazers: 8 first half assists

Simons and Sharpe (two guys who have black hole tendencies) have 3 assists each, promisingly enough.

this is what im wondering..

that 3/14 from 3 for the blazers

thats really the ominous statistic imo --- theres 0 scenarios where the blazers can keep their heads above water out west unless the 3pt shot is at a minimum middle of the pack..

n it seems likely the blazers will be not very good from 3, which seems to damn this team to the lottery n 20-something wins..

why i sorta am puzzled n turn my head sideways with the simons haters here, its like, who else is gonna shoot the 3's and make them????

Not that it really matters, but Grant playing the 4 is such a disaster. Ayton and Williams seemed to be getting overwhelmed on the defensive glass because Grant has an aversion to getting rebounds.

Again, this might be nitpicking, but 0 defensive rebounds out of your starting 4 in 17 minutes is not good.

It's why I didn't want him in the first place. He may have been Dame's guy, but that didn't make him anything other than and empty scorer on a bad team who couldn't be bothered to rebound. He is a solid help defender when he wants to be, but is totally checked out in this game.

I don't think Scoot should be starting, start Malcolm. Bring Scoot along slower like we did with Sharpe last year.

I don't think Chauncey is being smart with bench rotations...Ayton shouldn't have 4 fouls and Williams 3 this early. Brogdan needs to take control of the offense with Ant for a stretch and make it respectable.

Our bigs have fouls because our guards are garbage defenders.

You're preaching to the choir. We saw how he shut it down in Detroit after that team started a rebuild and I ... yeah. I am not a fan of him as a player and especially not with the massive contract he got. I don't want to be a broken record on this front, though, as what's done is done.

Guys.... we NEED to develop Scoot. Winning is not a priority.
I think he can develop off the bench until the game slows down for him..for me winning is building the right culture. Scoot will benefit from watching a vet run an offense in my view. He'll still get his minutes but do we need to dig 20 pt holes in the meantime?

Ayton and Thybulle are completely worthless

Thybulle hasn’t even been good defensively

We aren't trying to win games.

It’s very unfamiliar looking having people play off our PG because he isn’t a threat to score. So used to watching teams pick up Dame at half court.

Ugh, I missed Scoot's first two points. How did he score them and increase his score by an infinite percentage over the first half?
