You think you've called a timeout? Did he?

He said in his postgame interview that he did. The motion his head makes before he’s “gently massaged” across his face looks to me to be consistent with that.

This is all pointless now. The league’s not going to rule in the Blazers’ favor.

Why didn't Malcolm Brogdon call a timeout?

Did anyone ask that to Billups and/or Brogdon?

When Brogdon knew he was trapped and wasn't getting a foul whistle he should have called timeout immediately.

I don't understand why you'd wait to have your coach do it. What if the coach is on the other end of the court?
Brogdon called timeout the instant he was doubled. I saw it during live action. He even did the thing where they tap their chest when calling timeout, while he was twisting around. He was calling timeout even before Chauncey did.

He should have cradled the ball, made the TO symbol to the ref etc, maid it blatantly obvious.

Re-starting his dribble was a big mistake. What's the explanation for that?

While he was being trapped, why did Brogdon turn his body to look squarely at Chauncey Billups?

Billups can't grant a timeout.

I didn't see Brogdon saying anything in that moment. He was just staring at Billups.

With 2 timeouts remaining, both Billups and Brogdon should have called a timeout immediately at the moment below. Brogdon isn't looking to pass. It's over.

To say Whiteside had "no mid range shot" and Ayton has a good one when Ayton shoots 1% better from 16 to 3 is stupid. The league average on these mid range shots is around 40%. I never said whiteside had a "good" mid range shot, but he clearly has one.

Now you're not only trying to split hairs to defend what was a bad take to start with, you're also making my argument for me and being unnecessarily rude while doing it.

I don't think it's nearly the win you think it is when you're saying Whiteside in his best year shot worse than Ayton shot for his career from the same distance is some kind of proof in your favor.

1. Whiteside didn't shoot from 10-20 feet very much, let alone 15-20 feet. I realize you conveniently left that out of your little screen grab, but the number of shots one takes from that range is indicative of someone having that in their game, and you trying to hide it is intellectually dishonest. I don't care anymore if that makes you feel bad, since you are going to cherry pick one stat that doesn't even make your case and call me "stupid" because of it.

2. There's more to midrange than 16 feet to the 3-point line. The 10-16 range Whiteside was shooting more than 6% lower. And Ayton's taking something like twice as many shots from there. That's incredibly significant.

3. Ayton's still more than 1% better from 16-to-3, while again, shooting it more often. Heck, Ayton's better 16-to-3 than Whiteside is from 10-to-16.

You don't have any statistical ground to stand on here. Strange for you to want to die on this hill.

Both were calling timeout at that exact moment. What in the fuck are you going on about here? Seriously, you can see Malcolm calling for timeout, he says he was, he has the scratch across his face to prove that he was fouled, Chauncey is right there and it's not to coach, it's because he was screaming for a timeout. What is it that you don't get or are you simply trolling?

I didn’t see a L2M report released. Will it not be released because we’re protesting it?

this still photo has 2 Blazers missing. The Blazers walked right into that trap. Chauncey called his normal 3 down spread offense. This was not a trap busting setup. Nobody flashed to help Brogdon.

I was happy to see Chauncey getting angry about the results, because i'm sick of being the only Blazer person that stresses out if the team loses.

Got into our hotel in Houston last night about 2am…..up until 4:30am trying to get all 8 of my angles of this play transferred back to the brass back home to help with the protest. Crazy 24 hrs.

Do you have any angles that shows Brogdon getting fouled? He claims he was cut across the face during the entire thing.

I love the idea of us flying to OKC to replay 16 seconds of basketball. Our ball up 1.
The replay would likely happen in Portland when we play them in March. Though it's almost certainly not going to come to that.

Most definitely

regarding the first sentence, getting hit hard enough in the face to bleed can throw someone off a bit. I’m pretty sure he expected a foul.

You're doing God's work.

I need to hear a little more on why they decided NOT to challenge this but I am livid right now and about to lose it. I am going to go to bed to cool the BEEP down cause my first reaction is to blow like I have not done in awhile. However my gut reaction is Cronin and the decision makers need to be fired NOW but I will wait and see if they release or give a statement by this time tomorrow before I give my rant on it.

Fully expected this.
The L2M report came out & said the refs made all the right calls.

It's difficult to challenge when the NBA has already decided that there was no wrongdoing by the refs

There is absolutely NO implications around this game and that loss. That call, non-call, no timeout. 20 seconds of life meant absolutely nothing for the league or this team.
Why would they pursue this?
