Wainwright is 30 years old. Started his NBA career 2 years ago. Did offer some decent role playing minutes last year for Phoenix. Wainwright has "playoff experience" !!! (played some garbage minutes in 6 games last season). The Blazers need pivotal veteran presence in the locker room to be successful.

On March 5th 2023 Wainwright played the entire 4th quarter in a nail-biter in Dallas, which Phoenix won by 4 points.
He shot 4 of 6 overall, and Wainwright made 4 of 5 three-pointers.

INSANE ENDING Final 2:18 Suns vs Mavericks

This looks like the roster the Blazers will carry into opening night -

I like it. This is probably the most balanced roster I've seen for quite some time. It's a solid mix of young potential, with a few vets sprinkled in here and there to add some needed mentoring.

I can't wait until opening night. I'll be in the arena!

We are young, but not that young based on the projected 9-man rotation. Really it is just Scoot, SS, and Walker. If Ish passes Walker in the
rotation....that just leaves two.

I wouldn't have Walker penciled in as a backup, I'd have him as third string.

Camara might be a backup. But with a 4 year hustle defensive player who will be the 5th offensive option his youth is less of a liability than for most rookies.

Sharpe and Scoot are super young. I like the thought of them being the only very young players in the rotation, especially to start the season.

Maybe Ish is really good buddies with Ayton?
gotta keep the big man happy

I like the Ish signing. I see some Wesley Matthews / PJ Tucker grit in his game. I also definitely see some Wes in the way that he dribbles the ball down the court. This guy brings it every time he’s out on the court.

Ugh. Moses Brown is terrible.

Not in the G-League he isnt.. U can say what u want about him on the NBA level.. but he's WAY too good for the G-League.. n thats where Reath is headed..

I mean do u see the offensive rebound #'s moses brown puts up in the g-league? what more can the guy do in 20 minutes...

This is why THE G-LEAGUE is so glorious btw.. Cuz these fans wanna sit around n play favorites n cant even do their homework on the goings on of the g-league.. SO I do enjoy seeing posts like this one..

Cuz imo Natebishop3 is probably terrible at basketball.. Moses Brown on the other hand has made millions of dollars playing basketball before he's 25.. n who knows maybe natebishop3 is the next jordan but maybe hes a 40 year old dude with a beerbelly as well, i couldnt tell n i dont care.. what i do care about is --- Moses Brown made the cut!!!!! lets gooo!!!

good for the trailblazers!! moses deserved a better salary years ago n now he's finally got it!!

he's 24 and lanky as hell will still add a ton of strength..

moses just needs to keep getting better at defense.. the rebounding n offense are easy for him..

whats cool is too that Ibou Dianko Badji appears to be coming along nicely in the g-league, so it makes sense to keep Moses around til he's ready to pass the torch.

thats why even the idea that the 3rd string C was really much of a competition, dunno if it ever was..n my reasoning -- look at how these players perform in the G-LEague, not 4 games of preseason!

4preseason games doesnt trump all the work they put in in the g-league!

cuz the way that I look at there's gonna be matchups where Reath woulda outperformed Brown, n vice verse.. but in the event of catastrophic injuries, we'd want Brown here for an extended showcase over Reath.. Cuz Brown can stuff the stat sheet...

Does Moses Brown's OKC Franchise record of rebounds still stand? anyone know? He was putting up 20-20 games in the NBA just people forgot.. .think he had 23 rebounds n set OKC's franchise record for most boards in a game..

Still a whole bunch of players Moses age IN COLLEGE, for like their 6th super-duper-senior year, just wishing they were 3rd stringers n could trade spots with Moses Brown.. Lookin at you Branden Carlson!

Moses is above those random players that he got lumped in with this offseason... many of those dudes havent really paid their dues in the g-league the way moses did.. so its bizarre to see people lumping them together..

its bizarre to see people talking about toumani camara in the starting lineup --- let him dominate the g-league first, then work him up that ladder..

Its just like Rocky... that terribly unrealistic sports movie, thats really got a great soundtrack -- which carries the film entirely.. The actual story is totally unrealistic.... How in the world does some no-name amatuer get a title shot with Apollo Creed? makes no sense at all! completely delusional whitemans fantasy..

n thats how some fans treat these NBA players who are sitting ont he bench..

u decide this player "sucks".... so the next player does any little thing decent and you overrate them ---- ITS CALLED RECENCY BIAS... n lack of context --- THE GRASS ISNT ALWAYS GREENER!!!... but casual fans feel just casting these aspersions n so its common behavior.. I hate the fans.. Love the players... love the game... hate the fans.. Thats what I boo when I watch a basketball game --- the fans.. I cheer for the Players slamming into the fans, thats what i wanna see, carnage.. i wanna see these front row seat fans covered in their overpriced beer, thats what i cheer for.. I want to see the malice in the palace.. I hope jermaine o'neale comes out of retirement just to punch a few fans again!

LETS GOOOOO

woulda been a travesty if they cut him for Reath, especially if Reath is amenable to heading to the G-League..

Lol who cares about the g league?

Brown is terrible in the NBA.

Completely infuriating to me people were acting like Conditt even had a chance to beat Brown or Reath...

I mean thats HILARIOUS... but it just speaks to the lack of context.. If u thought Conditt was gonna beat Moses brown

Like Conditt for example averaged 11 points and 8 rebounds in 30 minutes in the Greek league last season...

What do you think Moses averages in that greek league if u gave him 30mpg? I'd honestly want to know hahahahha

cuz I say Moses would treat that league the way Hassan Whiteside did the Israeli league...

Lol who cares about the g league?

Brown is terrible in the NBA.
He's good enough to have a 20/20 game when he was like 22 years old... Conditt and Reath sure cant make a claim like that.. What are the chances Conditt and Reath ever have a single 20-20 game?

Well hes good enough to make the cut over the rest of these bums... no? so sounds like you should be mad at the GM.. I dont think he's terrible... but If i did, I'd be furious at the GM for not getting better competition to showcase how terrible Brown is...

Brown isnt the reason the Blazers dont make the playoffs, he's a 3rd stringer..

is that how you feel? Joe Cronin let Moses off easy this preseason by having him compete with 2 6'10" centers for the 3rd spot? cuz to me thats offensive to Duop Reath, whos pretty good..

Lets gooo.. my favorite player on the whole roster --- Moses Brown!!!

With Moses Brown the stat I’m focused on is +/-. He’s got that Whiteside predilection for stat-stuffing in games where his team gets housed.

I am wondering if Reath can be an old-school type PF. He is a good rebounder, but not a good rim protector. (Brown is just the opposite) On offense, I think he could as he can stretch the floor.

I can totally envision Reath coming off the bench in the 80's for the Celtics. Definitely old school vibe.
He's the 35 y.o. guy that shows up to open gym with dual sweatbands, a headband and a couple knee braces that you pray doesn't get on your team. Then he does and he goes out and can't be stopped because of his sharp elbows and old school back-to-the-basket moves.

The “Lloyd Neal” of 76-77 Blazers!

I read Mike Schmidt coached him for a couple years and is the biggest reason we picked him up. He's built like Justise Winslow..hopefully he's a healthy version of Justise...he's Grant age and a year younger than Brogdan so it's another vet that you can plug and play.

I can't say I know a lot about him, but between his wide body and his physical style/hustle.... he fills a need.
There are players we just didn't match up well with before. He should help in those cases. I am not saying he cracks the 9 man rotation but he sounds like
a good guy to have on our bench.

He's another 6'5 guy where as Knox was a legit 6'8". I just dont see where he will be more effective than a guy like Knox.

I liked Knox but 250 is different than 215 against bigger forwards. We need someone other than a center who is willing to get physical. We have other players like Knox, we don't have anyone else like Ish. But then I have not seen him play much so he could suck for all I know

Just because someone is taller (Knox), does not mean they can play basketball better.

From creating a winning environment, Wainwright >>> Knox.

Wainwright is not a great player, but he works damn hard and sets the tone for the team.

Knox has much better physical attributes, but lacks the mentality to be better than an average G-League player.
