I don't necessarily think that's true.

If we go into next season and Simons is still here and we don't add anyone else significant..... how is Dame going to be happy about that?
He shouldn’t be.

He is also coming from the vast majority of his career under Neil “I put my bait out, but they didn’t bite” Olshey

I don’t see how that’s connected with what I said. I don’t think that Cronin commits to spend that much money on Grant unless he has a commitment from Dame that he’s coming back. I’m sure the commitment includes other steps, including a trade that moves Ant for needed vets up front.

I would love that. If it was Ant, Nurk and future picks for Zion and Zion could stay healthy, we would have Dame, Shaedon, Jerami, Zion probably a C with the TPMLE, Scoot, Thybulle, Nas and some vet min guys off the bench along with Murray if he's ready to contribute right away. That being said what's the track record of this twitter account?

I dunno. I mean, there was talk that Grant was considering going back to Detroit. Pretty sure dude just wanted to get paid.

Yeah, but my point is that Cronin wouldn’t pay that money unless he’s pretty sure he’s got moves that will keep Dame here.

Dame may still want out. Bringing back Grant is just Joe proving his love to Dame. I don't think Dame is completely committed to staying yet.

But if we don't make any other significant changes, I don't see how Dame stays...

So you’d let Dame kill his trade value by forcing his way out and then you let Grant, an asset, walk for nothing? That doesn’t make a lot of sense.

As I said, any agreement Dame may have made to stay may include more steps. The rumor about the Zion deal is certainly interesting. I could see this being discussed last Monday at the meeting with Dame and his agent.

Why wouldn't Zion be our starting SF if healthy? lol

I am not sure it matters with a switching D. Offensively it works because Grant can spread the floor, while Zion likes to attack the basket.

I don’t see it that way at all. If Dame plans to leave, it would be a full-on rebuild situation. A five year deal for Grant wouldn’t fit with that plan at all.

I firmly believe that if Dame wanted out Grant wouldn’t have his new contract.
Seems logical. If Dame goes, we would need to drop Grant, go full rebuild, and play for another Lotto slam dunk.
