Point blank I think Draymond in Portland would be a disaster; how much of his game is dependent on the refs swallowing their whistles because "good defense" is just what they choose not to call? He will absolutely fail here, and it'll be chalked up to "oh he isn't as fast as he used to be" or whatever, but it'll definitely be because the ref respect level is lower here than elsewhere.
You might be right but I gained a lot of respect for him during the Olympics. I love the way that he quarterback a defense. Worst case it’s hopefully just a 2-3 year deal and he comes off our books when our guys are coming into their own.

If we took Herro to flip would it be Herro that we send out? Or Ant? Who is better and has the better contract? I think I like Herro more than Ant actually. Ant seems like a one trick pony that goes into massively long stretches of “where the fuck is he” and “what the fuck is he thinking”.

I don't think Blazer fans would like Herro anymore than they like Ant after the shine wears off.

Here is a new deal being thrown around today in the press. I think we could do worse. yea or nay
Trade Details
Portland Trail Blazers Receive: Jaime Jaquez Jr, Nikola Jovic, Malik Beasley, Mo Bamba, Victor Oladipo, 2024 First-Round Pick (MIA), 2028 First-Round Pick (MIA), 2024 Second-Round Pick (LAC)

Los Angeles Lakers Receive: Tyler Herro

Miami Heat Receive: Damian Lillard
Ooh, it's the 2024 LAC second round pick that really tips it in our favor

Now if you are saying Dame straight for Klay no way in hell. Blazers need major assets to rebuild if they trade Dame. Klay as you say would likely walk next year and might even get bought out if traded here.

As for hell no, this is the kind of bad trade that would be available, and honestly the kind we should at least sniff at if we want to rebuild. I don't think the trade machine can include picks, so I didn't bother trying. I think you'd want protected picks sooner and late unprotected picks if possible (like your pick swap idea). They'd come right as Golden State drops out of relevance, and right as our crew is ready to compete.

Maybe the Warriors don't quite want to give out all that draft equity - but if they're going to get Dame they need to give up a hell of a lot of it. Regardless if the Blazers ever seriously consider trading Dame to GS - having another team that can make a competitive offer does nothing but push up the offers needed for another team to acquire Dame so thats good for the Blazers if ultimately they do need to explore Dame trades.

I'm not a GM, and would be a bad GM if given the job, but I think accepting a "bad deal" now would help us more in the long run than balking and only getting worse offers later. I'd take fewer picks than you suggested if it meant keeping more of our own. Hell, I'd do this deal straight up with one unprotected pick five years from now. But again, I'm bad at this.

I think we could in a sign and trade from a team looking to cut payroll. Don't know if you have watched Prince lately but he is... ugh, not great.

Sign and trade for who? It's only 8M and you can't combine it with other salaries.

So Green's in town having Dinner with Dame Dolla.....

Dame knows that by all this conjecture in the media it only helps put pressure on the Blazers to sign Grant. I also feel Dame & Billups are on same page with respect to seasoned veterans.

I thought it was Hoopjock who posted the part about Green being in town

So we aren't offering/extending Cam. I think he has upside but we need some vets.
