Anyone interested in GG Jackson?
GG’s shot creation is intriguing and he looks like Paolo Banchero when he handles the ball. That’s pretty much where the comparisons between the two end for me though.

He is very inefficient as a scorer, but that might be because he’s asked to do alot. Where he gets drafted is going to be huge for him imo. If he’s in the wrong situation, he might be out the league quickly. I don’t see him being a great or even good defender at the next level, he looks like he’ll be average.

That being said, I could be interested depending on how far he falls. I would be nowhere interested drafting him with a lotto pick. I’m not sure how he would fit with Dame, Ant, and Grant if he came he. But he could be someone that brings instant offense off the bench. Even in the low 20s, there will probably be better fits for us.

The plus for him is that he doesn’t turn 19 until December.

Agreed. He also block 1.8 a game compare to walker’s .9 a game meanwhile Walker get .2 more steal a game. This tell me that there isn’t much of a difference in their perimeter defense, but Hendricks is way better at protecting the rim. I just trust Hendricks more to be a valuable NBA player
I didn’t even notice he averaged 1.8bpg in his stats. I like him even more now, and he’d probably be my top prospect if we’re in the 6-12 range. He looks more than decent defending guards as well, although I’m not sure how he’d fare against better competition. My worry would be that he measures well and he slips out of our range. He looks like someone who could and will shoot up the boards.

Crazy that his draft stock is all over the place though. I see him as low as 23 on some mocks and mock videos on YT as recent as two days ago. If he were in range of the NYK pick or slightly before that, I’d trade the ATL 2nd next year with the NYK pick to grab him and add him to whoever we draft with the lotto pick.

This draft is going to be huge for us if that NYK conveys, I just feel it.

Hendricks and Walker actually against each other twice since they play in the same conference.

Game one Hendricks had 14 point on bad efficiency with 5 rebound, 2 assist, a block and a steal. Walker had 2 point on 0% shooting, 3 rebound, and a block.

Game two Hendricks had 17 point on 60% shooting, 7 rebound, 2 assist, 4 block, and a steal. Walker had 17 point also on 60% shooting, 4 rebound, 3 assist, 1 block, and one steal.

They played against each other much of the game, and Hendricks outplayed Walker by far in both game

He also has some character issue as he been sulking on the bench the last few game. He’s like Nurk mentally wise when he was in Denver

Do you see him being available around the NYK pick range? More than a few mock drafts I’ve seen do, which seems far fetched to me.

That’s the hope for me. He’s kind of a wild card on where he lands. In term of our pick, there’s a couple guy I would honestly pick before him including Anthony Black who I think you also like

Brandon Miller seems like an obvious fit.
Question for you.

Say we lucked out and got #3, are you taking Miller or are you taking a swing on potential like we did last year? Miller is a great shooter and is Ingram-esque, but is his ceiling higher than someone on Amen Thompson?

I’ve been so intrigued with Thompson lately if we were that high up. 6’7 with elite athleticism, has a real gift creating for others, and has the tools to be an elite defender. Shooting is a concern, but that can be learned. The thought of having another athlete like that to pair with Sharpe for the future is almost too good to pass up for me, even if Miller would help us a lot sooner given Dame’s timeline. What say you?

I’m taking Brandon Miller over Amen. Brandon is averaging more points and rebound in college on way better efficiency. You would think that being in a street ball league that Amen would average more on better efficiency. But since Amen is shooting really bad I would not pick him over Miller. Miller is also a fine defender himself. Only thing Amen does better is passing. He won’t be able to play the kind of defense he does in the nba where he basically harass the ball handler, he’s gonna pick up a ton of foul.

We're not getting the #1 pick so have no expectation of it so you don't sound really fucking stupid when you complain about it.

Sharpe wasn’t a number 1 pick. There’s lots of good players in this draft. I really like the crop. We need to start thinking about the future.
Agreed, this class looks STACKED. I do not look forward to fighting for a play-in spot to get mollywhooped by the Nuggets or Suns.

So many 6’7 to 6’9 guys, and I like a bunch of them. Haven’t gotten around to watching Gradey Dick yet, so I’ll need to watch some tape. Kris Murray is someone I’m not even high on, he’s not much better or worse than his twin who was #5 last year and he’ll probably be available in the 20s. That’s crazy.

Rayan Rupert is an interesting prospect as well. We need to take swings on two big wings like NOP did with Murphy and Jones. Badly, too. Probably way more worth it than trading 2+ picks for OG and even 4+ picks for Bridges imo.

EXACTLY! Look at teams that have won rings or been close to winning one, recently. They were built organically. Being a lottery team isn’t a death sentence if you do your homework and Cronin has hired some guys known for their drafting prowess.

Wings that can defend and shoot the 3 are a critical aspect of todays NBA

I agree finding help at the wing is critical in this draft unless a bonafide superstar is attainable to squeeze into that little window Lillard has left

That’s about the only thing I’ve commended Cronin on, Schmitz seems like a home-run hire.

I’m actually fine unprotecting next year’s 1st now, IF we hit on one or both rookies this year. The next guy(s) we draft, we need be confident they fit Sharpe’s timeline and be able to contribute to a winning team for Dame.

Sharpe + Brandon Miller + _____
Sharpe + Anthony Black + _____
Sharpe + _____ + Taylor Hendricks
Sharpe + Thompson Twin + _____
Sharpe + _____ + Dariq Whitehead

So many possibilities.

Let’s lock up positions 2-4 for the future. We have a legit shot to do that in this draft.

Gradey Dick is real nice
This guy is an interesting prospect now that I’ve seen a little tape. Wow can he shoot that thang. And he moves off the ball well.

My concerns for him:
I barely see him put the ball on the floor. He looks like a much better finisher than Brandon Miller right now, but he also looks like he isn’t very strong. Holding off my opinions on his defense for now cause I haven’t seen any tape on that yet.

I see him graded as possibly a late lottery pick, and I’m not sure I’d draft him that high. I’d honestly rather take the risk on someone like Rayan Rupert who’s around the same size but with a 7’3 wingspan and shows signs that he can be a good shooter himself.

But Gradey is interesting. He’d be a win-now kind of selection for sure.

I’m just kinda over drafting guys under 6’6 at this point. But he’s a nice player.

I’m still at draft best player available though. But yeah I’d prefer size. Thank god Sharpe isn’t 6’2 or 6’3”

Well….we do need a real backup PG, not a PG in name only (CJ, Ant).

Still, I’d rather draft for size.

It's the only right choice to have reasonable expectations within the circumstances at play.

I laugh when people get mad about not getting the unrealistic expectation met. Might as well get mad at losing the Powerball every time. (Please use common sense before making the strawman).

No actually I don’t understand your jibe whatsoever.

When I've watched Kansas play, I've liked Wilson much better, but it may have just been the specific games I've seen.

Like any 18 year old he has games where you’re like wtf. But I like how he extrapolates to NBA ball
