Some #3 picks
MJ
Melo
Dominique Wilkins
Billups
McHale
Pistol Pete
Grant Hill
Reggie Miller
Bob Cousy
Penny Hardaway

I'd be happy with anyone like any of them.

Scoot is like Billups and Dominique.

I’m officially on the Scoot/Sharpe/Brown backcourt timeline. Dame is my favorite player ever but I want pieces that all fit together and for more than 3-4 seasons.

i go back and forth on miller. one day he looks like a PG reincarnate, the other, he looks like a guy whose game can't translate because of his inability to get past his guy or score at the rim.

gonna do a serious deep dive on these guys over the next few weeks.

im still high on whitmore -- could even be a candidate to move back and grab an asset for.

I'd love that and get to see Dame on a contender.

I think a lot of people think it's a given that the Hornets select Miller but a dynamic backcourt of Scoot and Ball would be interesting so I think IF for some crazy reason the Blazers KEEP the pick Miller very well might be there. Also the hornets ran old Blazer Dennis Smith at PG so to think they would not take Scoot is kind of silly.

Making my prediction now that the Hornets will take Scoot leaving the Blazers with Miller or the Twins and good trade chips to trade for a proven vet to help Dame. While it would have been crazy AF if the blazers got Victor the 3rd pick is still a very good chip to have. My biggest worry is we have a GM that has not made a legit good trade since he has been on the job sure he has made a solid trade here and there but also given away players for next to nothing too. I am praying that Cronin has been playing the fool and pulls off a high IQ trade and blows us all away but not going to hold my breath on that one.

Your post is convincing but I still think the right move for them is Miller. But there will be a lot of teams that will want Scoot.

Going to SA where he will have every opportunity under an OG great coach; is Wemby a lock for ROY?

Is there any chance somebody offers a boat load and the Spurs trade him?

I have no idea why the Thompson twins are ranked so highly. They are 20 yr olds playing against guys as young as 16 and putting up inefficient numbers in a league with hardly any other NBA prospects.

This like like one step above the Junior Basketball Association (aka big baller league ) that LaVar started to showcase his kids against lesser competition.

I don't think people realize how much of a level below college or even the GLeague this Overtime Elite is.

Taking either of these guys top 10 would be a hilarious misstep.

This has been such a problem for what 7 seasons now and still some people can't seem to get a grip. If you have Scoot being the next Allen Iverson or Dame Lillard then yeah, you fucking move Dame if no one else has Scoot as being that, you want to move Ant too at that point. If you can find a team that likes him about as much as we do, you just get value for that pick in the form of proven talent.

There just isn't a scenario where Scoot, Dame and Shaedon make sense on a roster together and it gets even worse when you add Ant into the equation. Having players that are the right size and have the right athleticism and complementary skills is still important in this league. The myth of positionless basketball has been so overstated. We have seen first hand that you need balance on your roster and in your starting lineup or your team will be less than the sum of its parts.
Nice story but it's just a bunch of opinions.

Yeah I'd preferred to have watched them in the GLeague

Because the draft is weak, I think

Totally agree on this. My Nephew just started OTE. It's not a great showcase and the talent level varies greatly.

Really? Is your nephew good?
16 year old that shoots really well and has handles but he's another 5-11 kid with a bunch of dreams. If he can get to a junior college and maybe get some tuition covered it would be huge and he would stay off the streets. Growth spurt might get him to 6'-1". Right now he is transferring high schools to follow a coach which in my opinion is great because he will take another year serious. 16-18 are huge years for kids. If he even sniffs a girl he gets sidetracked. The high schools are fighting over him a bit. He will bring some wins. Kind of crappy the way one coach is acting? That coach happens to be on a couple boards and tried to take away his eligibility if he transferred.
I see really no chance for him to go pro? Just too much competition but he could have a bunch of fun for the next 5-6 years and the experience and personal growth would be great for his life. It's fun to watch but it's way different now than it was when i grew up.

I see that the Blazers are interviewing them both at the combine, just doing "due diligence" I guess.

It's amazing how many players taken in the lottery end up being absolute busts.
There’s only 450 NBA players in the entire world.
Pretty easy to be considered a “Bust” I guess?
Even more so when you figure only 30-40 of them are considered Impact players.

I hope it's just that.

Amen profiles similar to Dyson Daniels and I know we were high on him last yr. I just hope they realize taking him at 3 is a massive overdraft

With Dame, everyone said "he's playing against a bunch of DII guys". With Sharpe, it was "he's playing against a bunch of high schoolers".

At some point, you just have to assess a prospect's talent and attributes, not competition. I'm also assuming that when you say "inefficient numbers", you're talking about purely his 3pt shooting and free throw shooting because he shot 56% from the field.

Here are the reasons why Amen is ranked so highly:
height 6'5.75 (combine)
weight 214lbs (combine)
wingspan 7'0 (combine)
vertical 44" (reported)
Ability to make plays for others (like actually become be your starting PG, not just a guy who can bring the ball up the court and make the right pass)
Athleticism to play lockdown defense

I think you're going to be surprised with Amen if we draft him.
