Game Thread 2024-25 GAME #1 - BLAZERS VS WARRIORS - 10/23/24 - WEDNESDAY - 7:00 PM - KATU 2.2 - BLAZERVISION

Scoot had lots of issues last night, but I wish people would stop using +/- as a gauge for a single game. It's a useless stat until about half a season is the sample size.

as HCP pointed out earlier in the thread, Brandin Podzeimski led Golden State in +/- with a +34 and he scored exactly 0 points while shooting 0-5.

It's not useless. You can't attribute conclusive causation to it, but when one player stands out from the crowd it's supportive evidence when coupled with other data points.

I only pick on Scoot, because he's the one we're supposed to be pinning our hopes for the future on.

Yep. Straight leg kick to the nuts. For sure deliberate, IMO.
I somehow missed it I guess. It does strike me as odd that there isn't some video available with the clear view of this burning down the internet... I just looked for it and came up empty. Plenty of people love to hate Green and yet no one seems to be cashing in on all those potential clicks

Dirty player, dirty team, fuck the Warriors. Plus...their broadcasting team is so conceited. They think the team is still the champion or something.
Their broadcasting lead guy was the same douchebag years prior to them drafting Curry. I'm not naming him on purpose, he's the worst

Dreymond is such a dirtbag. I can't wait until him and PatBev are out of the NBA for good. Both have made a great fortune by fouling so much that the refs decide not to call them for the same stuff they even call superstars for.

Yeah, its pretty disgusting and pathetic the shit both of them do and get away with.

Can't make this up -- the worst opening loss in franchise history just got 1pt worse -- update the record books!!! :biglaugh:

NEW YORK -- Golden State's blowout win at Portland on Wednesday got a little better Thursday.

One point better, to be precise.

The NBA found a scoring error, one where the Warriors weren't credited with a free throw that De'Anthony Melton made with 2 minutes left in the third quarter. The league revealed the miscue Thursday, changing the final score from 139-104 to 140-104.

Ha.

They never change it either. Figures they do this time.

I saw it live but can't remember exactly when it happened to get the clip...

This is ridiculous. Green almost rips off Avdija's jersey while throwing his leg inside his crotch.

I don't know if Avdija knows Green's history, I would think he does, so it's kind of a head scratcher that he didn't go after Green after that happened.

Even if Avdija had been thrown out, it would have been worth it to have this incident reviewed.

Our announcer Calabro said "Deni got hit below the belt in that activity" and made no more comment on it. WTF. with Draymond Green in the play and his leg almost 90 degrees.
How did he get hit below the belt? Did Calabro not care to look?

I don't imagine Green would try this against Jayson Tatum in Boston.

By the way, this happened with 1:17 left in the second quarter.

They showed a replay on the stream I was watching. But I didn't see that Greene was actually pulling on his jersey as well... What a dick.

I consider myself a serious blazer homer, but the second half of game 1 has me pretty much unenthused. GS was getting easy shot after easy shot, and we had to work hard for each bucket we got. I'm pretty happy about our interior defense, but our 3 pt. defense was total garbage - unacceptably so.

Okay, kick not punch. My point remains: ...

I saw it, guessed it was a punch, and have seen no replays. I'm glad to be corrected by those fortunate to see replays. It took me 2-3 posts to get board attention to this incident. When Green does this against other teams, those team managements/media are outraged and bring national attention to it. Can people here who have media or Blazer management contacts do that, please?

He was in a lot of pain. Lying on the floor, Av rocked his body, sliding forward and backward. He couldn't get up for a half-minute, much less fight.

Avdija was on the floor trying to get his balls back down into his sack.

But, yeah people need to start giving it back to him.
