I wasn’t able to watch from the hospital, so these are real questions and not bitches.

1. Is Clingan still on a minutes restriction?

2. Is there a reason Sharpe only played 24 minutes? Was the game out of reach early?
Scratching my head as there often seems to be no rhyme or reason as to minutes played with Chauncy -same with Deni

Honestly, do we have a single guy on our roster who is even a top 60-70 player in the NBA right now? It's kind of remarkable.

I'm not sure who our best player actually is at this point. Maybe Deni. But he's no better than the 70ish range at best.
Predictable too - this was detailed in the NBA rank thread during the preseason. Major fail from Cronin to hold onto this Ant Ayton Grant group of vets going back to the day Dame was traded.

It's kind of sickening.

Grant is a 30-year-old starter who is #1 in minutes per game, dead last in 2-point %, and only ahead of Scoot Henderson in true shooting % (rotation players).

To make matters worse, what does he do well consistently besides 3-point shooting (and FT%) ?

A PER in the 11 range paid $160 million.... He's just not worth a FRP at all right now, unless the Blazers are the team giving one up.

I'm hoping there is a way some team such as the Bucks with Middleton at least offer us a contract ending sooner and we make that deal. I doubt Cronin will accept a lower return than what one of his player was seemingly worth months ago though.

Turned off in the third quarter when it had irredeemably gone to shit (as usual) but may I just say: Doncic is a great player, but JESUS is he a whiny fat fuck and I fucking hate him. (And this from somebody who was BEGGING for us to trade up and draft him.)

Why only until the deadline? We have Grant locked up on a $160 million contract until 2028 and can give Khris Murray an extension in the summer of 2026.

very faint hope of trades that ship the bogus-3 out of town. If not, the disgust reaches another level

by the way, in case anybody is interested, the Blazers are still 28th in offensive rating

but that early season top-15 (IIRC they were 12th at one point) is long gone. Blazers are now 27th in defensive rating; good thing Simons and Ayton came back

Portland is 28th in net rating. The Pythagorean gauge based upon net rating says the Blazers should have a 7-22 record instead of 9-20. Wrong season to over-achieve but somehow, Blazers have found a way

kind of hard to gauge best player. Timelord is best in terms of winshares and BPM (plus PER & TS%). Avdija best in terms of VORP. But Timlord has only played in 10 of 29 games (in 2 seasons, he's played in 16 of 111 games...yikes!). Caveat is that those metrics favor bigs

it wouldn't take much for Sharpe to climb the ladder to best player, but he has trouble stringing together 6 or 7 good games.

by the way, Cronin has been on the job for 3 years now, and this roster is the best he could do

He's taking his time I guess? Certainly looking like he should have traded that #3 pick and got Dame some help. Maybe that can stop winning meaningless games and get the #1 this year?

why do you always answer posts with questions? have you always done this? are you aware you do this? do you like peanut butter?

I don't know. He was shooting well and seemingly effortlessly in the opening five minutes and he seems like the kind of guy who keeps shooting well once he starts out that way, but then Billups pulled him only five minutes into the half.

I like the sponge baths, so I tolerate the medication
This reminds me of when I was in nursing school and doing a rotation at the hospital and a very nice attractive middle-aged woman (I was also middle -aged) asked me to give her sponge baths (even though I think she was capable of showering). Then she also wanted me to hold her arm and help her walk up and down the halls, although I suspect she could have successfully used a walker. In fact she wanted help walking on the last day of the rotation which I didn't really understand was kind of a test day and so I did not have time to get another patient ready for a transfer.
Shortly after, my teacher/supervisor informed me that I would need to repeat the entire year of school.
What a sad fucking story, right?
