Because they get the 8th pick over the 6th pick? That will set the team back 4 years? Will our players stop all development during this 4 years as well?
yup...Shaedon Sharpe is not 50 draft picks better than Toumani Camara either. I think the number 1 pick last went to the 10th seeded Hawks? Correct me if I'm wrong.

Didn't watch the game...checked in to see folks reactions to winning ugly again. Four game win streak is a clear fuck you to tanking from CB who has to be sick of losing and hoping to go out with his head held high.

At the expense of the future of the franchise.

yeah...I don't really buy losing as a winning strategy but I understand lots of folks do. Winning is how Clingan becomes an allstar down the road.

Yes. The difference between the 5th pick and the 8th pick can be monumental.

Meanwhile we got overpaid vets who won’t even be a part of the future, fucking up the future.

I understand that gray area isn’t really an approach you understand

This is the last year I’m on the losing purposely train. This also happens to be the most loaded draft in a decade.

Which is why where we land organically should get us a great player in the draft...being worst doesn't guarantee Cooper Flagg anymore..it's ping pong balls that determine the prize now like Keno in Vegas

The odds are better. This draft has much more than Cooper Flagg. We are one more young star away from having a team that could really become something.

This is Portland where it’s imperative that you build through the draft. I’d hate to screw up the possibility of that just because Simon’s or Grant who aren’t going to be there to see us prosper.

Unfortunately the NBA is setup to where a win that doesn’t elevate us to the playoffs is just a hamper to the organization.

Being stuck between shitty and good is a recipe to be stuck in that position for years to come

It’s still an odds based scenario. I could care less about wins in another throw away season.

Hornets licking their chops to draft a franchise player. We’re screwing the pooch and playing to win with middle of the road vets..

Dude its fucking awful
Yes the Hornets are such a well run organization. They’ve been around since the 80s and never played in a conference finals as the Hornets, Pelicans, or Bobcats. Worst run organization in pro sports.

Well, Clingan played well tonight.

Ugly game.

Shaedon needs to get a couple of good performances. Just looks like he's going through the motions right now.
Waiting to get the keys to run with Scoot for 38 mpg. Soon, I hope?

Bad Win -- DC had a solid game but like blazerkor said this was because of Ant and Grant and both should be traded --- the rest of the young players were just ok at best.

I hope Billups likes that his win percentage went up by a hair but the Blazers as a team got jack from this --
Jack? Showcasing Ant and Jerami may be word from on high.

Man, this is gonna be the road trip we talk about for years that will set this franchise back another 4 years

Good times.
Let me take you back to 2007. We played Seattle late in the season. Every Blazers fan wanted Seattle to win for draft positioning. We won. Which ended up being good because we got the #1 pick which ended up being bad. So if we had lost to Seattle, we would’ve ended up getting the #2 pick and drafting KD.

The post game is highlighting the only bright spot tonight. Clingan was a force of nature on defense and setting screens tonight which was really nice to see.

This roster needs.a superstar forward and a decent small ball center and it will be a contender in 3 years.
And Anthony Bennett can be found at #1 while Giannis Antetokounmpo can be found at #13. We don’t know how this will work out. Top pick can suck, 41 pick can be franchise changing. I personally think we’ve hit on the last 3 drafts and could add a good piece at #10 this year. Look at the Rockets last year. They said fuck the lotto and built some winning momentum that carried into this season. Hawks competed for play-in all season and got the #1 pick.

Yes and the guy who is making a GOAT case was drafted in the 2nd round!

And the odd are greater than 80% that you WON’T get the top pick if you’re the worst team in the league. You yourself said the draft class is loaded. Well then, we should be ok with #8 pick.

There's a big drop-off from 4 to 8, it's not just about the top pick.

I wonder what the probability of that happening in back to back years. In the end, you have a better chance at a higher pick if you have a worse record. Only top 4 are selected, the rest go in order of record.

With the way it's going lately I have half a mind to expect Cronin to be a buyer at the deadline and mortgage more future picks for a play-in run.

Yay.
Could happen, remember both Joe and Chauncey feel they have limited time to make them next jump.

Rip City ! fgws

Just a couple pieces away and we can take the next step to NBA playoff roundball.

With the other teams winning we needed to lose these 4 to set us up for a better chance of a top 3 pick.

But we didn't.

So today it wasn't the 6th pick, 4 games ago it was a much better odds of a better pick.

You made my point for me. We fucked it up.

There is literally 0 reason to be excited about this win streak.

Scoot, Shae, and DC aren’t nice things? I think they’re all hits personally.

You thinking something doesn't change that nice things don't happen to this franchise.
