Well this is embarrassing. Getting blown out by a G-League lineup.
 
To fall off as much as Grant has in one year you almost have to try. As much as Scoot's improved, Grant has been three or four times worse. And, if he's not going to play defense, I don't want the offense going through him. The heck with him.

Murray really has an opportunity, but he's got to come back next year with at least a little bit of offense. He has to be able to hit open 3s occasionally. Or FTs. Or layups. Or just freaking throw elementary passes. How he can be so awful at offense is inconceivable. Whenever he's in the game, it's like play 4-on-5 on offense. Or even 4-on-6.

I can't stand the "put Shaedon in the corner and watch Ant and Grant either run iso or pnr" offense. How you can run an offense with your second-best offensive player moving less than a traffic cone is some kind of malpractice, possibly by the player but more likely by the coach. If anyone's going to be in the corner in those situations, it should be Grant, not Sharpe.
 
IIRC, the Blazers, after a Simons surge, led 37-31. From that point it's the OKC junior varsity ahead by 32-8
 
By playing (and starting every game) Grant it's a double-whammy by Billups of having to suffer with Grant, while one of the young players minutes are taken away, pretty much completely, in some cases.
 
The best thing they can do is keep losing. I hate seeing them lose but they simply do not have the talent to compete. OKC was satisfied to throw this game and POR is getting destroyed by the end of their roster.

POR needs talent. Say it with me.

They are not G-League. Wiggins, Joe, these guys are great NBA players. It’s why OKC is so good. Deep as hell. And we have no one to replace Avdija.

I don’t think OKC was satisfied to lose. OKC coach wants this for his COTY resume. And the young Thunder want more minutes.

I would bet that all these players would be on other teams. Just because you don't know who they are, doesn't mean they aren't good. Many would be in our own rotation.
 
Billups knows the way to stop a run ( comeback ) -- put Grant back in the game to screw things up --

Grant back in the game (of course) and Simons, 5-14 for 14 points, taking the ball away from Scoot 8-13 for 22 points.

They have a young point guard lottery pick to join next year. Unreal.

They also just need internal growth and roster clarity. I believe Shaedon and Scoot will be top options on offense soon.
 
Walker does more out there with the average talent he is and is paid like a fraction of Grant but does more for the most part if given some playing time.
