2024-25 MEDIA DAY

Welcome to our community

Be a part of something great, join today!

I do not care that Ayton in engaging I just want him to evolve more so we have a better chance to trade him to make room for DC ( if he is as good as I think he will be )

Seems like food was used by coaches as an analogy for practice and development last year... Scoot talking about "All the good food he had" when thinking back on last season and learning from it...then another reporter asking Ayton about a quote he had about "we're trying to make the food taste better"...i guess it was from a practice last last year and DA had no idea what he was talking about lol responding with " What was I saying!?". Probably the funniest moment from a pretty drab media day.

Also liked hearing from Donovan about how playing with the different guards and how the defense chooses to guard them in pnr affects what reads are going to be available to him.

BRO, they just asked the new guy Avenkja or whatever his name is and he said what was the team’s goal this year…..he said,”Well we came in last place in the west last season and we don’t want to do that again.” BRO! This place is gonna be hilarious this season. These game threads FAMS will be LEGENDARY!

Honestly game threads will be sparse like last year.

They are legendary when we think we have a chance (see: Lillard era) and hundreds of posts are about one play an hour ago in the 2nd quarter lol

Better than Matisse? I'll belive it when I see it. (I didn't get to watch)

Matisse definitely. Thinks before he speaks.
Murray is good in previous interviews. Deni gets it. DC. Several guys have got it.

Never cared less for a media day or opening of training camp.

I'm fully on board that the best strategy is to full tank and rebuild aggressively with all youth and we get a ton of losses the next few years.

But it's going to be a test of fandom of this franchise for even me and other hardcore fans. Casual fans will all certainly check out.

Doesn't help that we're still doing this bizzare two timeline thing as well. Dame would've always been fine as an exception since he was a historical pillar of the Blazers. But holding onto mediocre overpaid vets of Grant, Ant, Ayton, Thybulle, Timelord???? Just shows a franchise with no clear path or direction. No self awareness of where their talent and best path forward is. Maybe 1 doesn't have value, another we want to keep after a rebuild, but there's zero strategic reason to have ALL five of these guys.

My hope for the season is
#1 Best draft pick possible
#2 Seeing something from Scoot or Sharpe
#3 Trade vet(s) for whatever we can get.
The rest of this roster and season is irrelevant.

I can assure you "Hardcore Fans" have checked out as well. Yes we will check in and we will watch a game here and there but no we are not paying as much and we are not going to change our schedule to watch a team try to lose.

Personally, I will try to check in if Scoot, Sharpe, Deni, Ayton and even Clingan are getting the majority of run. Really do not want to see any of Ant or Grant dominating the ball. The rest of the roster is roll players on a good team at best. Ping pong balls or bust!

Is it concerning to anyone else that neither Scoot or Sharpe couldn't define what they need to work on?
Not really, in that they both have a lot to work on, honestly. Sharpe is mainly ball control and aggressiveness. Trying to be a killer out there. Scoot is obviously needing work on his opposite hand, finishing at the rim and his jumper. But then he needs to get turnovers down, but that involves teammates too.

You’re crazy FAMS! These dudes on here will bitch every single game, about something. They will find something to cry and complain about! Even though we have no chance to win that game and knew that all the way back here in October 1st! They’ll find something to complain about on my favorite team.

I like that Ayton said he worked on being more physical around the rim and that the Olympics helped him with that.
I didn’t see him in Paris, was he there!?

Absolutely agree with all of this.

Going young isn't trying to lose. It's committing to greater growth.

Keeping the vets and shutting them down once we know we're going to miss the playoffs is "trying to lose". That's tanking and I hate it.

I understand it once, or maybe even twice if you have bad luck with injuries. Anything else is just classless tanking that I can't support.

It's all losing. Losers try to lose. Lipstick on a pig.
