So in a nutshell, people have hurt feelings. White Americans have had their feelings hurt, and are rebelling. Yeah, like I said, America isnt the greatest country on earth or close to it.
No, the white Americans didn't shift their support to Trump. That was the minorities.

I think we have a bigger problem than just bigotry. Bigotry is just a lever that is being used.

It’s a slap in the face that the younger generation is even paying into social security.

If you read his post, what about it involves minorities? I think 3 of the bullet points are almost specifically about white people.

it's a lot deeper than "hurt feelings"

there is only a small percentage of persuadable voters and the majority of those are white. They were persuaded by Obama, twice, and Biden once. They weren't persuaded by Hillary or Kamala.

I think America hates a lot of things

* it hates open immigration even though most couldn't define what that means and if it's real. But the spectacles of overflowing southern borders resonate. And unfairly, or not, Dems are seen as the defenders of open borders

* it hates the woke culture, a lot. Hell, I'm liberal and I hate it a lot of it, or at least I get cramps from rolling my eyes. They hate the idea of trans athletes competing in women's sports even though that's extremely rare; but it's a red flag symbol for most of America, and symbols are extremely persuasive in elections. They hate all the pronouns replacing she and he; man & woman; and the aggressiveness of those pushing those new labels. And the Dems are seen as the defenders of woke culture

* it hates inflation and lost purchasing power. To be sure, they don't spend much time analyzing who, or what, is responsible. But they do have enough memory to remember that much of that inflation happened over the last 4 years; actually the last couple of years; and they sure the fuck remember the financial pain. And the Dems had the White House when this most recent economic downside occurred. (and the robust stock market won't persuade anybody reeling from lost purchasing power)

* white America hates being bludgeoned about "white privilege". Yeah, most know it exists. Some just don't care at all, and those that have cared don't anymore, convinced it isn't their responsibility. 80% of Wisconsin and Pennsylvania are white; 74% of Michigan is white. Tossing around the 'white privilege' label in those states alienates a lot more people than it recruits. Sure, there's a significant element of racism that exists, or maybe it's more accurate to say bias since 'racism' is too loaded a label. But that's a basic reality that needs to be accounted for instead of dismissed. And the Dems are seen as the defenders of those strident voices shouting white privilege

* a whole lot of men hate being hammered about things like "toxic masculinity" and "patriarchy". It generates resentment because it seems to condemn a significant part of their identities and their responsibilities; to the roles they have. People hate standing on shifting sand and too much sand is being shifted, or trying to be shifted, by too many people identified as Dems. But the reality is that the Dems lost a majority of white men quite a while ago. And it's clear now they have lost a lot of Hispanic men; and that's extremely revealing considering those defections went for Trump. There is even growing evidence that enough black men stayed home in this election to make a difference. A liberal black woman from San Francisco might hve been the worst choice the Dems could make

I'm not saying that any of that is at the root of things; I'm just spitballing and could be way off. But it's pretty clear the Republicans are much better at using symbols, however fair or unfair they are, while the Dems are busy trying to explain nuance as a majority tune them out and buy the symbols the R's are selling

such people are contemptible.

then which country are you moving too?
You know if America is so bad you can leave.
This is exactly your problem. You say, that Trump supporters are aggressive and hateful, using "fuck you" five times. Logic, level hard.
But at least we aren't trying to overthrow the results of the election.......

So now we’ve found out that being morally corrupt isn’t a frowned upon among the country. In fact, it’s encouraged.

Nah I think it's just as simple as people putting money over everything else. Most of the people who voted for him seem to think he's going to magically fix the economy. That's all they care about.

Not sure where you got that from? @Everything Beagle stated 1 in 5 women were raped. You then posted 1 in 5 women were sexually assaulted. I'm not sure if either figure is correct, but there is clearly a difference.
I'm sure almost every woman would rather be sexually assaulted rather than raped.....is that what you're trying to say?? Like there is any fucking difference. Gee, I wonder who YOU voted for......

the counting isn't done yet, but the percentages might not shift much. It's interesting to compare the left coast, 2020 vs 2025

California - Biden 63.5%....Harris 57.3%
Oregon - Biden 56.5%....Harris 53.8%
Washington - Biden 58.0%....Harris 58.6%
Hawaii - Biden 63.7%....Harris 63.0%

New Mexico - Biden 54.3%....Harris 51.6%

New York - Biden 60.9%....Harris 55.8%
Massachusetts - Biden 65.6%....Harris 61.4%
Maryland - Biden 64.4%....Harris 60.2%
Illinois - Biden 57.5%....Harris 53.8%

all solid blue states with big populations and except for Washington, Harris lost major ground in all those states

One is attempted rape and the other is successful penetration. I don't necessarily think anybody was trying to argue legal definitions.

The point still stands, don't you think?

If you tell somebody they are terrible they probably aren't going to show up and vote for you. So they didn't show up to vote Dem.

Republicans gave minorities something to actually vote FOR rather than something to be afraid of. Even if that was a lie or a bait and switch.

Imagine if Democrats gave people something to vote FOR and actually delivered...

Turns out many here who support the party that preaches tolerance isn't so tolerant of differing views/opinions.
This thread is getting out of hand. Show some respect for eachother.
and again for the record - I am not a fan of Trump - I am a moderate.

Unfortunately, we now get to find out how wrong they are...

That Latino shift right is going to hit the blue states hardest yeah

"The party that preaches tolerance" specifically preaches tolerance for characteristics that are beyond one's control--color, culture, sexuality, gender, physicality, etc. They do not have tolerance for behaviors that they view as harming others. It's not hard to understand the difference.

So what are you going to do if Trump trashes our democracy? Was it worth it?

Again, I'm not a democrat.

Meanwhile, the liberals:
"What we need is a means-tested semi-available government grant (funds pending) to eliminate the word "citizen" from all community center pamphlets in a 25 square radius of the city of Detroit. That will solve the problems."
