Joe Cronin's wife is currently following two prospects in this draft on insta, from what i saw: Sarr and Clingan. Scoot follows DC too.

Mike Schmitz follows almost everyone.

Trying to understand why Dame follows Risacher of all people.

Too busy to continue to do this creepy stalking shit these days.

If we can jump up and get Sarr, I'll be ecstatic.

I get the reticence of anyone who's watched this team for the last decade to get another small guard, but is Devin Carter not on the table? It seems like having a Lu Dort analogue (1 1/2 inch shorter, same wingspan, same motor, not quite there yet on strength) isn't a killer to go with Scoot.

I like him in theory but I think he will be gone by pick 14 so would he be your pick at 7?

Going to trade Simons and Grant and get Clingan and Sarr

No, personally I think we have (literally) bigger needs. I don't even know that I would take him at 14, but he's in the mix in my head.
I like guys with motors and drive to get better and killer instinct and actual basketball skills. I personally would be intrigued with Sheppard but not with our current team. I like Castle but the lack of shooting isn't great.
Holland is interesting to me, as is Buzelis. I'm not holding GLeague Ignite against them as much. I'm probably higher on Edey than many, though I don't know that Chauncey is going to scheme him up for success.
Also, without knowing a lick about Topic, I could easily see us grabbing him and considering it a "EuroStash" to rehab him this year, since we're gunning for LottoVille again next year.

The Game Theory guys went through the rosters and predicted one 2024 draftee as a definitive day 1 starter on his team: Edey.

Even that is doubtful for me, tbh.

Seems clear Edey is projected as a starter, Memphis has no other centers.

Not sure who else could be projected as a starter, Sheppard for this year is behind FVV, I guess Sarr might be a starter, maybe Castle on the Spurs but they have CP3 to start the year and seem conservative with rookies. Maybe Buzelis on the Bulls.

If we trade Ayton I'd pick Clingan as a starter with Timelord/Duop as backups but that seems unlikely.

Crazy how crappy this last draft was.

If we pick up where we left off last year, we'll start 5 rookies day 1.

If we started 100% of our rookies end of last year and start 100% day1 this year it'll be only one rookie starting.

They were all rookies at some point, man...

(Said in the voice of Leo from the old "that 70's show")

Very rare for us to only have one drafted rookie on the roster. 2016 we did with Jake Laymen and 2020 with CJ Elleby. They were both 2nd round picks though. Need to go back to Qyntel Woods in 2002 when our only rookie was a first round pick from what I can tell.

Actually crazy how many 2nd round picks as rookies we've had on the roster over the years. For an average NBA team it should be 1 per year but we had tons of years with multiple ones. I guess that was part of Paul Allen being willing to spend a bit more money and loving the draft. Certainly had a number of very good role players throughout those years.

Lots of prospects playing in big games today. I’m watching Kentucky/Tennessee right now. Knecht looking real nice.

Every year there’s a player or two that’s value skyrockets from the tourney. I’m anxious to see who it will be this year.

UghA

There’s good players in every draft, no matter how bad the draft. No stars yet in this draft but plenty of difference makers

Couldn’t find the Rookie Thread for this season. Haven’t been really following this rookie class. How are those top 10 picks doing? Living up to the hype?

Why are you discussing the rookies from the last draft class? You told us all to stop discussing them because they were all horrible.

Take your own advice.
