Taking a flier on athletic size with the 2nd pick … Furphy, Salaun, Chomche — foreign-born with both picks? The new NBA.

Salaun will be taken in the first. I admit, there's some Ousmane Dieng vibes there but even he was drafted before Jalen Williams by OKC. I like going for upside. We need shooting anyways.

Just saw some Alex Sarr highlightd and I’m sold. C’mon Basketball gods make it happen please: Sarr, Simons, Sharpe and Scoot

I'd give up our Golden State pick with our own just to get Sarr if we had to.

I would like to luck into Sarr and use the GS pick and our seconds to move up for one of the SF projects. Just being greedy. Probably have to throw Ant in and take a garbage contract back.

That would be dope. Would love to get Salaun, Cody or Holland with a second pick. I'm not confident the Blazers even want the pick so I would just settle for getting Sarr before they traded it for a mediocre vet.

I like Clingan

…but a little birdie told me last week that the Cronin & Co are all in on Sarr

Tis a moot point until the lotto happens though

Been a little while since I’ve been on here. I hope everyone’s been doing good man. I went dark on BB because of the tanking but I’m glad the lotto is coming up.

I’m just starting to watch Castle’s film again and maaaaan I loved his game before my hatius, and I still love his game now. Of course you wish he was a bit bigger, but he still has good size and plays much bigger than he is. Good defender. Great rebounder. Good passer and ball handler. I feel like I’m watching a slightly smaller Jimmy Butler.

To me, adding Castle as a third guard to a young starting young backcourt of Scoot and Shae just fits. I got to see Scoot take a lot of 6’10+ guys in the post in the person this season, and I’m super encouraging on his defensive outlook going forward. Any two of the three in the backcourt at all times (post Brogdon and Ant), and I’m going to be happy with our guard play for the next decade.

Scoot + Shae
Scoot + Steph
Steph + Shae

Even if Castle showed us he’s good enough to be considered a cornerstone and needs to start, he and Shae are both big enough to switch off guarding 3’s.

Or the faithful folks who keep telling you there's no one good in this draft. They have never let us down huh?
I’m not sure this collection of words means what you want them to. The draft hasn’t taken place son.

You're on record for everyone to see your blind ignorance on this draft.
You’re right I know nothing about the game and don’t have access to talk to scouts, players, coaches, GMs and other involved in the league for 25 years. Carry on with your well thought out and educated takes on the game.

I kind of agree with you as there are not a lot of PFs in the draft. Can he be as good as a healthy Jaren Jackson Jr? If he can then I am all in.
I do like the long-term potential of Cody Williams, but I think it will be slightly harder to find a replacement for a Sarr than a replacement for someone like Williams.

Agreed. Plus we have the following draft who has plenty of really talented wings. I can see a world where Cody absolutely turns into a star, but finding a switchable mobile big at 7-1 who projects to be one of the league's better defensive big men is what we need to take the next step. We must build this team with a defensive identity if we wish on getting anywhere. Sarr helps that mightily.

Kind of puked in my mouth even saying this but would you take a flier on LeBrons son with 33rd draft pick? Doesn’t look like an NBA player by his stats but there’s some potential there .

This team is in no position to waste assets.
I'll agree with that. What I really wonder is whether there is a group of players likely to be available at that slot in whom Schmitz is particularly interested, or if it will make more sense for this rebuild to try to package 33 and the GSW pick to move up for a higher 2nd lottery pick.
