Welp we tied in golds but we crushed in overall medals.

Yep, we still finish on top because we have the most medals. USA needs to prepare like hell for LA in 4 years. Gotta dominate on our home court.

Wow they took away Jordan Chiles bronze.

Yeah, that's a huge mess and the IOC was given a solution to make it right and refused. Sabrina Maneca-Voinea should of Romania should have had the bronze to begin with.
She was wrongly assessed a deduction for stepping out, which she didn't do. Then Romania's Ana Barbosu went and scored into Bronze. Then Jordan Chiles went and at first failed to bronze. Ana thought she one and was celebrating. Then Chiles' coach put in a challenge for difficulty and was awarded it giving Chiles the bronze.

But, apparently the American challenge came 4 seconds too late. This went to court, which ruled for Chiles Bronze to be stripped and given to Barbosu even though her teammate Sabrina was the real winner of the medal (I believe even with Chiles corrected score with higher difficulty, Sabrina's score minus the faux step out deduction would have been enough to take bronze.)

Romania got the bronze as they should have, albeit a different competitor, though I'm sure the two teammates will share it. Romania though, asked the IOC to make all three girls bronze winners in a tie for all of the distress they were all put through. IOC said no.

Okay I would think that women’s weight lifting would be a low hanging fruit to steal from China. They got like 3-4 golds just from that shit.

There HAS to be better female weight lifters in the US somewhere.

There is. One US woman won gold.

I was reading that competitors get 4 minutes to file a grievance but since Chiles went last she only gets 1 minute and she was 4 seconds too late. Sounds like some bullshit rules to me.

Yeah, the competitors before her got more time because you get until the next competitor goes up unless you are last.

This closing ceremony is amazing.

Playing an inverted piano...crazy

Is Portland more likely to host an Olympics or an NBA All-Star weekend?

LeBron James was the best player at the Olympics. Shame on the Lakers for wasting his brilliance.

Is Portland more likely to host an Olympics or an NBA All-Star weekend?
There was a time Portland talked about hosting a winter Olympics. Summer seems more likely now with Eugene becoming a bit more relevant but still very unlikely.
Seems the NBA simply has no interest in Portland at this point either?
