Many people on this site are anti big corporations and how they in many ways screw the public. I guess the blazers are more forgiven when it comes time to divulge/not divulge player injury status.

Hogwash.

No they dont have to issue an update. No i dont need to pay my mortgage. No you don't need to go to work.
But that isn't reality, is it?
I told @SlyPokerDog I wasn’t going to interact with you…..but this is just TOO much. You want everybody on here to think that there is some sort of tie in to you making your MORTGAGE payment, and Scoot’s injury. BRO!!?? The only thing “weird” is YOU continuing to complain about this. It’s baffling you take this much time up in your day concerned about injury updates. Live your life…… when the guys return, they return. If their injury status impacts your ability to keep your house, I don’t know what to tell you. See @SlyPokerDog I did good there didn’t I?

Okay…🤣🤣🤣

Good job making a discussion about the team personal.
Check how many posts i have a day and how much time on here daily, maybe before you insinuate personal life behaviors like this…

And yelling at me while doing so?

Wtf man…

Im far from the only one now who has posted it would be reasonable to get an update, but im the only one this guy singles out and makes personal jabs.

Seems thats more like trying to cause drama, to me.

One person is fine discussing the team with anyone. One person cant handle it without tossing personal insults out there.
Good job derailing a discussion about the team and their injuries…

But some people can do no wrong….🤣🤣🤣

personal insults and causing drama? Please highlight an insult and drama. Please.
Only one person on here can make an NBA players health status about them. Sorry @SlyPokerDog I tried

In case you are unaware of what you say/type…

Moving on now. You clearly have an agenda/vendetta. Good luck.

I ask you again to please show me drama caused or personal insults in my above reply to you. Do’t claim I’m insulting you and then not show me what was said.

@THE HCP @SharpeScooterShooter chill. All this over whether we should or shouldn't get an update on Scoot or not? Not worth it. Let it go. The both of you.

@SharpeScooterShooter just because @THE HCP says something doesn't make it law. No need to take things personally.

@THE HCP you have been a little over authoritative in trying to get the last say in things. Necessary? I know it's really just your form of humor bro. It rubs some people the wrong way.

Both of you need to go your separate ways. Put each other on ignore and leave it that way once and for all.

Will do. Except I'm not the one making it personal and trying to call people out with how they spend their time and personal life.
Just sayin.

We should be able to discuss things like this without the personal attacks.

If he wants to waste his time telling others how to spend their personal time and life, that's his loss. For Instance if he tried to tell me how to spend my time or life, I wouldn't give two shits. He can only own real estate if you let him. Just sayin.

We should and we do. I don't know that it was a personal attack so much as him trying to be the authoritative take on the situation. Keep discussing. Ignore it.

Would we like more regular updates on Scoots return? Yes. Do the Blazers have to do that? No. We can discuss it all we want.

His Offensive Rating is 129 - which is 5th on the team, this means the team does really well offensively when he is on the floor even if he is not scoring, because he sets great picks, he is a force on the offensive boards, he is a good defensive rebounder that helps the team get into fast breaks. DC is doing very well on offense even if the "simple" stats are not there.

At the same time, his Defensive Rating is 112 - which is 3rd on the team. That kid is a big plus for this team on both sides of the floor even if his block rate is lower than last year.

... and he is a 2nd year player which is a regular starter in the NBA for the first time in his life.

I mean, come on...

I like him and think he should be seeing the floor more. I want to see a little more dominance from him though. The advanced stats are nice, but they aren't the full picture.

It's also up to scoot and his team if he wants to give out his medical information. Maybe he doesn't or the team doesn't want to. The team is under no obligations to give us updates.

more than all that of the 7 players who have played more than 200 minutes (no other player has played more than 100 minutes), Clingan is 1st in offensive rating, 1st in defensive rating, and 1st in net rating

That's kind of disingenuous, isn't it?

Professional sports are like acting and music. It's entertainment. It's to give people something to watch and talk about. That's why the leagues mandate injury reports.

If an update isn't mandated, so be it, but a lot of teams will do it anyway because it's news, it sells, it gets your name out there.

Now, do the Blazers have to do it? No. Is it fair for a fan to ask. Absolutely. Both can be true.

A few years ago, on Twitter, I got into an exchange with a fan who was outraged because it came out that a reporter asked someone, it might have been Russell Westbrook or Durant (it was a player with Thunder ties but I can't remember if they still were with the Thunder), about his plans for Thanksgiving or Christmas and the player told them it wasn't any of their business. The fan was angry at the reporter, saying it was intrusive and no one cared and it was basically asked just to make the player look bad. I explained to the fan that these questions get asked all the time for a number of reasons. Maybe they were writing a feature and trying to personalize the player. Maybe they were writing some kind of story about what NBA players do on the holidays. Maybe they were just looking for an interesting lead to their game preview or game story. I don't know. But it was a media opportunity and the reporter had every right to ask it and the player had every right to decline to answer, for whatever reason. It then turned out that the reporter also was the Thunder beat writer for a time, so they probably interviewed the player dozens of times before, which makes it more understandable they might ask a more personal question, because, as I think you would know, journalists covering a team for 82 games per year always are looking for fresh angles because you can only write so much about dribbling or shooting and readers relate better to players as people.

Anyway, asked and answered or not answered. Fair question. Fair response. And, I think, pretty much the end of it.
