Some of you trade experts answer this question. If we are eliminated from the playoffs could Grant and Holiday have a buy out and moved off the team.
Why would not making the playoffs matter??? They could not be bought out and sign with another team as late it will be when we're likely to be eliminated. Also we're not buying out guys that we owe over 70M to a piece.

19-8 deficit in offensive rebounds, and 25% shooting from 3. These things are fixable. I'm disappointed, but not discouraged

I like Scoot, I really do, but they may have to cut their losses and unload him. He cannot shoot.

How can grant have only 1 rebound???

It's clear CHA has gone up a level. Sure would be nice to have a draft pick this year...

I didn't think this game would be a win but it was still ugly and frustrating.

Whoa! He's still just 22. He has been disappointing but I'd like to give him next season to show what he can do and then the team can make a decision on him as a RFA.

I know, I know. But will he ever become even an average shooter?

It’s called cut bait new owners

So they are 3000 miles away playing a morning game and they come out sluggish and play uninspired and now everyone is ripping the players and coach.
That's a game thread for ya.

He had stretches last season of months where he was better than average shooter.

I don't think he'll ever be a knockdown pull up jump shooter but if we have guys in the game with him that have some gravity, like Deni and Shaedon and/or Dame, then I think he can be a decent three point threat but I'm not sure about that. I just hope we have a new GM that has no ties to Scoot who can figure that stuff out without having to admit that they made a bad pick.

Sorry but you can find any excuse for a loss. They have people that track team movements to maximize sleep and distance traveling

Excuses excuses

Sad when Donovan Clingan is a better three point shooter than Vit Krejci

Yeah, I just don't see any owner in the league wanting 140M of dead cap space on their books.

I would sooner attach picks to them to get rid of them... maybe a team would take Jerami with the worst of the 2029 FRPs and possibly we could move Jrue by attaching some second rounders to him. We'll have to wait and see. Who knows maybe you're right and new ownership will be cool with eating that kind dead cap space.

It was even more uninspired play than you would have expected in this circumstance but the sky isn't falling or anything.

I don't think the roster that Joe assembled really makes sense but obviously it has not chance without Deni and Shae.

Not giving up on him yet. He moves well on the court. If you noticed hornets were up tight on him all the time because he was the only three point threat on the team. If we had other shooters and he gets open looks I believe he will thrive

Tisse is a threat too. We just don't play them right.

No dudes, we can't move off Scoot. He is going to lead us to a title. We can't trade him in a package for a star because he is going to be a star. Let the cake bake.

Oh, I definitely wouldn't be sad to see him go in a trade where he gets us value back, I just don't think it's time to give up on him completely by either trying to dump him in a trade or waiving him in the off season.

That'd be a mistake. It is obvious he is going to be our star.

I'd hope for that, but, here's the thing: Where does he get minutes next year?

I can't imagine him starting in front of Dame. If they don't unload Jrue, he's the third PG. He's not playing in front of Shaedon.

I watched them today when they needed to really score in bunches to try to get back into go to Wesley instead of him. Wesley is one of the guys you could argue is actually a worse shooter than Scoot. That's telling me something.

I think Scoot has 20 games to show them something -- anything -- that he's worth keeping. Right now I see a player who's not doing anything to making him unexpendable.

Or maybe here's another way to look at it: If Scoot played for any other team in the NBA, would you not want to play against him? Would it worry you when he stepped on the floor against you?

I hear our broadcasters talk how great he is when he makes simple plays. A lot of times, that happens when they're trying to get the fans excited and disregard what they're seeing with their eyes.

I want Scoot to succeed, but I also have to be realistic about what I'm seeing. It's not even the shooting to me that's the problem. It's that he doesn't do anything else that makes the poor shooting forgivable.

If we can't unload Jrue then I think that's a bigger problem than having Scoot on the roster but you're right if Jrue is here and Dame is healthy then we need to get what little value we can for Scoot in a trade.

There were times last season where he would have been a player that I wouldn't have wanted to deal with as an opponent. That hasn't happened this season but he's only played a couple of games without a minutes restriction.

Again, there will be no reason to keep him if we have two PGs on the roster ahead of him. I'm just hoping we move Jrue and that Scoot can have a breakthrough next season.
