I don't know about this asshole but I spent my youth protesting Vietnam war, fighting for women's rights, going to Pride when I knew it could cost me my job. Cleaning up polluted beaches. I am spending my old age holding up signs and going to No Kings on my aching feet. What has he/she/they done?

The ATC walkouts were the key. Establishment democrats can’t let rich centrists be inconvenienced in the slightest, else they blame Democrats for the shutdown. This is what happens when you court the center rather than the left; you lose any ability to gather strength from the resolve of your supporters because so many of your so-called supporters don’t care about anything but themselves.

Agreed. Whoever wrote that screed is an ignorant, self serving asshole. Just as there are two distinct "sides" in America across the board, there are two very distinct sides of the Boomer equation. There's the half that rides Trump's greedy coattails and trashes the American Dream for their own self aggrandizement, and then there is the rest of us. You know, the ones who have spent our lifetimes trying to clean up the messes the "Greatest" generation (with help from conservative Boomers) left us. We're the ones who fought for a cleaner environment, world peace, a woman's right to choose and all the other progress Trumpism is trying to undo. These arrogant younger generations absolutely HATE it when we lump them all together but they sure don't have a problem painting all Boomers with one brush. Fuck the guy that wrote that. If he really wants to get shit done, quit pissing on Boomers and make an effort to work with us. As we heard time and time (and time) again this past year, it's the Boomers who are actually getting out and making the majority of the noise against Trump. A little help from the people whose future we are trying to save would be nice, rather than constantly hearing them whine while giving us the back of their hands.

Republicans two days ago were facing disaster. Fighting about meaning of defeat. Arguing whether to platform nazis FFS. Democrats flush with victory and looking forward to winning big in 2016 and 2018.

Now totally flipped.

I have been asked why I am a registered independent and not a Democrat. Today is why.

Same here... what was the point?!? I definitely lean left and want to love the Democrats, but they make it very challenging.
